I just downloaded and am watching the old Backstage Tour including Residential Street. Does anyone have photos of the old map and new maps of MGM? I'd like to see the area that was used to build the stunt show. Thanks.

You know everyone complains about the maps no longer folding out and it having small descriptions, but the old, old maps were just like that, before the 100 Years of Magic Celebration. I just found an old Magic Kingdom map map from I think around 1998/99 because the Skyway is still up and Buzz Lightyear is featured as new. It is more or less than the maps that are now out.

There should be a board to post scans of old maps. I love those things. Even when I was a kid I loved taking one for myself to look at the whole park in all its splendor.

By the way, what was "L" on that older map? I didn't go to the Studios before 2002.

Perfect, thanks for posting. Now that I look at both maps they really used almost all the Resdential Street area. How sad, I miss it so much.
On the subject of old park maps, I found one from either the late 80's or early 90s and the artwork on it is so un-detailed.

Regarding the "backstage tour," is it now literally getting into the tram, travelling to the canyon, and then travelling back? What else is there for them to show you? I understand it makes sense to get rid of the "neighborhood" if you aren't filming stuff there anymore, but the bigger question for me is, why aren't they filming stuff there anymore? Why couldn't they leave some of the studios they use for smaller stuff, like the yearly promo videos, or some of the stuff on the in-hotel promo stuff active in Orlando so there was something to tour. I understand it was cost cutting, but you can't have a backstage tour when there's no stage to begin with.
