My most recent trip was November 2017 for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend. We head down every year as a charity group from New York called Sparrow's Nest (they provide weekly meals to families whose caregivers are facing a cancer diagnosis). This pic was taken at about 3:00 am in the...
As an FYI - the Wine and Dine half marathon weekend is the first weekend of November. All of the races are held in the early morning before the parks even open (Fri Nov 2 - Sun Nov 4), but something to consider with the extra folks around during W&D, especially in EPCOT.
Favorite Ride/Attraction Audio: Impressions de France in EPCOT
Favorite Ambiance Music: I love listening to music on the buses (how it changes when you leave one area or resort to the next)
Favorite Environment Sound: the sound of the waterfall at the Wilderness Lodge
Your Personal Favorite...
Living with The Land - a leisurely pontoon boat ride that allows you to look at the fruits and veggies that will never closely resemble what comes out of your own garden at home.
A Christmas ornament from at Disney's Days of Christmas at DS, and I usually pick up next year's calendar when I'm there for the W&D half marathon (last year I grabbed the 2018 Vintage Attraction poster calendar, and I think it's my favorite)
I've had so many great dining experiences (both food and waitstaff), it's hard to decide! One of the more "memorable" best/worst dining experiences I had was back in Nov 2016 at Portobello at DS. We were "carbing up" before the Wine & Dine Half Marathon, and our party of 3 were seated at a...
Back at it again for Year 5 for the W&D. I also just did the half this year (did the Challenge last year - glad I did it once to experience it, but was a lot as I am also down there working for our charity). Super excited and November will be here before you know it!!
I'm late in responding, but I'll be there..running the challenge!
Took a look at the course maps, and a little bummed about the 10K route not going around WS this time around...but passing through Pandora for the Half makes up for it! :D Oh...and hitting the sewage treatment plant sooner...
Looks like the Half and 10K (individually) are sold out as well, but Lumiere 2 course Challenge is still open. I knew the half was sold out last week, as our charity (Sparrow's Nest) started receiving calls for bibs and prices! Definitely took longer to sell out this time around, but hopefully...
I hate when you're driving on a busy 3 lane road..you're cruising in the middle lane, and there's someone who decides to make a right on the busy 3 lane road with their Buick boat right when you're passing said car...
in no particular order: running, music, karaoke, reading, Etsy (it's a slight addiction!), iced tea, the beach, supporting the non-profit charity I work for :)
Looking for opinions on where to grab the best dessert (not in actual parks). Boardwalk, resorts, DS - what is your favorite? Any dessert...ice cream, chocolate, pie, fruit tart, etc (I've never met a dessert I didn't like)! :D:D
I just stayed at POR last November for the Wine & Dine half marathon with a charity team of 100+ runners. The staff was incredible and managed to place all of us in the Alligator Bayou section all close together (far cry from CB the previous year where we were all in different "villages")! The...
I'm in for the challenge this time around (running again with the charity I work for, Sparrow's Nest). I think I'm more excited about running the 10K than past the sewage treatment plant in the Half! :( Oh...and the Dole Whip spiked with Bacardi at the after party...I can get excited about...
