Checking out a Disney Cruise Blog article from last year, looks like they are held on by a dark grey clasp that prevents easy removal. The replacement price on the new bands is $12.95 instead of $50, and charged to the guest upon arrival to be returned if the band is returned.

From experience with going with people who have mobility issues, Kidani is the worst for that. It's a very spread out resort with very long bus rides every place.
