In Park sit down/Reservation Dining at Universal Orlando

I am interested in possibly making reservations at one of the UO restaurants on my next trip, but I'm not really familiar with any of them outside of having a drink at Confisco Grill & Backwater Bar. Normally I go to the UO parks alone hit all my favorite rides in about 2-4 hours and leave, so I normally just go Hulk > Spidey > Eat at the heroes quick serve, so really outside of that 1 restaurant I don't know much about Universal food, I think I had a Pizza one time, maybe in the Jurassic Park area, that was like a really cheap attempt/poor copy at what Disney serves at Pizza Planet, probably 8+ years ago. I know Mythos used to win awards all the time, and it looks like each park has 2 restaurants. What do you guys suggest?

mythos is decent and reasonably priced. Can get reservations ahead which helps

The other places all seem to get bad reps as theme park food.. and avoid NBA you are commonly told. We liked Mel's for what it is.. but most people prefer heading over to Citywalk if you want something decent.

The pizza was probably the same, I believe the QS locations are serviced by the same vendors.

Mythos is great. Good food, reasonable prices, and great themeing.

I also like Confisco's. The food is good, but the room is kinda plain.

Lombard's Landing is the most expensive of the Uni table services. It is mostly seafood.

And my favorite Uni table service is Finnagan's. Great food (think Irish pub fare), great bar, and a real "Happy Hour"

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to book Mythos, I was leaning that way. While I like seafood, my wife isn't a huge fan, not sure how she'd be with Irish food either.

All in-park QS (w/ the exception of Starbucks) use the same UO recipes and product. Pizza dough is made fresh in the production bakery and pressed in each unit, pizza sauce used to be Roland brand, mozz supplier would change based on the best price. Note Pizza Pred in JP did use to serve Pizza Hut personal pans around 2002, thus used Pizza Hut ingredients. Lasted a year or two and then the contract was non-renewed.

To the OP, I would recommend Mythos or Finnegan's. While Mythos is nowhere near the quality it was the 5 years I worked there, it's still a better meal than you will find in most theme park settings. Finnegan's is pretty much what you'd expect out of an Irish pub, but they do it well and I actually find it to be the best value on property. (Soda bread w/ apple butter FTW).

Nothing special at Lombard's or Confisco to warrant the premium over say a Red Lobster or TGI Fridays.

Thanks for the lowdown on pizza.
