Two additions - And I would purchase an AP for DLP

Many European parks open in the Winter. Some open their water rides, others close them. For example, Phantasialand in Germany opens over Winter, closes the rapids but keeps the log flume open (when it isn't frozen over).

    Everything's Down!

I've not really experienced this at DLP, the odd closure here and there but they would open again at some point (aside from Big Thunder Mountain which is really broken, no idea how). However I have experienced this problem elsewhere, unfortunately it's just down to luck, mechanical things break...

Electroland @ Walt Disney Studios July 8th 2017

I didn't but I saw a lot of videos on Facebook from ED92. The evening ended with an announcement about a 2018 event. Someone I know who works at the resort said in a facebook comment that the event tickets didn't do very well so I suppose we'll see as to whether or not it does actually return...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

I'm hoping there aren't many/any changes. I really love Blue Lagoon, if it becomes character dining I'll be angry (it's the worst and Blue Lagoon is a nice tranquil location to chill with some decent food, not be bothered while you're eating by a drunk pirate). I wouldn't mind seeing a couple...

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

It's an Ant-Man theme, which I think sounds cool. Is Buzz closed yet for this transformation? I feel like the current proposed dates don't match what is currently being constructed?

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

So many parks in Europe have log flumes and rapids. Some even open all year round (e.g. Phantasialand's log flume, Chiapas - they close the rapids during Winter). Tokyo has some pretty cold weather and they have a Splash Mountain that is open all year. From what I hear they have the ability to...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

A photo has been released of Jonny Depp posing with one of the new Jack Sparrow animatronics in the Paris POTC. The ride re-opens July 24th. Personally, I don't think this one looks right? Sure the other parks that got these animatronics looked a lot more like Depp. I'm still excited to see...

Best time of year to visit?

From my experience it keeps changing. However weekdays outside of European school holidays tend to be a good place to start looking. Jan/Feb tend to be really quiet as there's no seasonal event (this changed this year with the addition of Season of the Force in Feb). I'm not 100% sure but I'd...

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Honestly I'm a little sick of Toy Story in the parks but at least a re-theme here opens up the possibility of a Toy Story themed interactive ride over in the Playland area? I'm really intrigued as to how they'll pull off the Ant-Man theme.

HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Really glad this got approved. Considering the first addition is meant for next year construction will have to start fairly soon?

Electroland @ Walt Disney Studios July 8th 2017

Apparently this is being organised by an outside company, so annual pass holders can't get discount on tickets. Sounds like a really cool event though, love that the Tower projection system is getting more use.

    Goodbye Walt Disney Studio's Park?

LOL. To say Indiana Jones in Paris is un-themed is such a hilarious and inaccurate statement. Personally, I brace while riding and so I don't find it painful and I think it's a fun ride. Would I prefer Paris had a massive Indy dark ride? Of course but for a quick capacity-addition shortly after...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

Urgh, this news is upsetting. I imagine people will pay out for this, you'd be surprised at how often this type of thing sells at other parks - which is frustrating as it's the worst, these trips are expensive enough as it is. Makes it even less likely that they'll be soft opening the ride the...

    Tripod Protocol at DLP?

I want to say it's not allowed? I don't think I've seen anyone use one. Selfie sticks are obviously banned but you do see the occasional one snuck through security. Someone over on magicforum.eu asked a similar question and I think this response might be helpful...

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

Paris certainly doesn't have the funds to get a new night parade anytime soon, but by the time the 30th anniversary rolls around, I think we could potentially see something.

Yeah if anything I'm hoping Paris gets a new Paint the Night or something original. I love the MSEP soundtrack but overall the parade is pretty dated.

MAGICal DLP News, Rumours & Thoughts

I'm quite upset by this rumour/news. Cinemagique is one of my favourite things in Paris and I didn't get time to see it on my last trip. Apparently it'll be similar in style to the Pirates show in Shanghai (which is great imo). I do feel like this show is in the wrong place? Probably because I...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I'm not sure what size gondolas they're going for but I would imagine they know their audience well enough to get ones big enough for scooters/prams etc.

    DLP, General/specific/good/bad tips/advice desired

Doesn't that end up a bit stressful though in the Summer months? With a late closing it can be a rush to get one of the last RER trains back into Paris (had a friend who nearly missed the last one once). Staying on site/in a partner/in the nearby Val d'Europe is less stressful and less of a...

    Second Gate at HKDL?

IP stands for Intellectual Property. Basically a short term for when something from a franchise is used, so any characters, films or TV shows. Covers anything copyrighted etc too.
