    Ideas for Trip with Mom

Since 1996, focus on what has changed since then that is really better. I think you pick a wow resort to stay in like Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge. She will appreciate the beauty of those. Food has become better since 1996, so some nice meals would be important. For an add on, I...

Rumor Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

I think you're right. The reverence we have for original attractions like this won't get us much further than this generation. WD would have been merciless to revamp and make things great again by replacing things with the best he and his team could dream up. We keep CoP of course and IaSW as...

Why do you believe WDW has gone downhill?

WDW was or is (depending on how you feel) the leader in entertainment, creativity and hospitality. I think the issue is that WDW was certainly on the leading edge, but now it seems to chase others to remain on top. Nobody does this on the scale WDW does though. What I don't like to see, is to...

    BOMA Mulligatawny Soup

You'll find great variance in Curry Powders. If at first you don't succeed, try another.

    Trying New Things

I'll vouch for Skipper's in that the concept (Port of Call Foods) is great. It allows them to have quite a variety of dishes.

News Tony's Most Merriest Town Square Party comes to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for 2018

They should do something like this at Epcot for New Years Eve. Have a sort of "hub restaurant" you can go back in and out for drinks, hors d’oeuvres and desserts. It would save a lot of the wandering around aspect of it in WS and control the crowds better if all the restaurants did this. They...

    What if this thing fails?

Keeping up with the times is the most important thing while maintaining the nostalgia. WDW must continue to innovate and be like no other place in the world.

    Grocery Deliver

I feel the charge will reduce the tip that many give bell services for bringing your groceries up. I'd rather they get the money, they're doing the work.

News Spaceship Earth Refurb - 2 Year Closure

They're finally going to build that roller coaster inside of that big golf ball that noobs seem to think is there. ;)

Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story

What they should have done... Continue only with episodic films. Slow down with the whole wrapping up of the Skywalker clan early. We needed another Luke movie before you unceremoniously killed him off. We lost Carrie and I realize that has changed plans but rushing Luke's exit and pushing...

What's your length of stay "sweet spot"?

8 Days, 7 Nights. Hit every park hard in the morning once and again more slowly. Night time park depends on where dinner is. Late night park is usually MK when there is enough energy to keep going until 1am and it's open that late.

In what order does Disney try hotel discounts to increase occupancy?

I think how this is done is they have algorithms based on sales. They "give" a block of rooms to these sites to sell by how sales are going for a particular day. I'm sure they can take them back as well but that requires a bit of coordination.

    Separate Parks In Universal Orlando?

You are essentially walking the boardwalk between Epcot and Disney Studios. That probably is overstating it a bit. They are closer together than that.

    Photography etiquette within the parks

The problem is etiquette is not always learned and easily forgotten once it has been learned. It's always something, from people stampeding to something like this that is just annoying. If you took what one would call a good park day in the 90s vs what someone would call the same today, I'm...

    Then vs. Now: Your observations

Me too. It kind of morphed a lot of what was great about Jungle Cruise along with movie history and a few great scenes.

Who else is thinking about waiting until 2020 or so to go back to the World?

2020 is a long time out. I was hoping late 2019 myself. I guess we will do a wait and see. When DD turns 21 we will likely go to Las Vegas rather than WDW so 2019 is probably the year for us to go back and again in 2021. I'm hoping when I do go back that AK and DS are more than the half-day...

Question for those who stay in the values.

Yes, they have to create certain strata to maintain a price level. My point is, choose things that actually cost money. Making different types of rooms is probably one (yes, the family suites for example at AoA but realistically they cost more than two rooms). You can have the same...

    Bag Check.

The check at the monorail is for monorail safety. The check at the park entrance is for park safety. I'm sure they will build a different ramp/railing configuration soon so they don't need two. It's a pain I know, especially for those who carry bags.
