    French Quarter or AKL???

I've stayed at both, and I liked them both. That said, $500 is a pretty good deal in Disney dollars to go from a Moderate to a Deluxe. If you really don't plan on doing anything at the hotel, then you might want to keep the savings for other uses. But, for us, I'd probably go to AKL if we could...

    AKL Jambo for Turkey Day!

We've stayed Thanksgiving week before, and we will be doing it this year too! It's really not all that bad. Last time, it was very light in the parks until WED/THURS. And, even then, the crowds are usually manageable with common sense and flexibility. Also, AKL is amazing. Boma and Jiko are two...

Once Upon a Toy gets Disney Infinity 2 days early AND a free character piece.

Even if it never becomes more than a Skylanders re-themed clone, it could still be very, very successful. I haven't seen any reviews of the games themselves yet, but I know that the Skylanders games are very limited in scope. That said, the novelty of getting new figures and building a...

Once Upon a Toy gets Disney Infinity 2 days early AND a free character piece.

It's a video game. The "base" features a main hub, but you have to collect/buy other characters (figures with digital data in them) to unlock character-specific games.

Once Upon a Toy gets Disney Infinity 2 days early AND a free character piece.

It's a video game (or a suite of video games) that uses physical toys to link to mini-games and in-game characters. It will release on multiple platforms, and most people seem to agree that it looks to follow the same strategy (and success, hopefully) of Skylanders. Because of Disney's larger...

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

Thanks! Yes, I planned on using the boat for the WL dinner. There's really no 'easy' way to go to resort-to-resort, so we always try to take advantage of the ones that have boat or monorail access. Plus, I just think that boat trip at night can be very, very pretty.

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

We made a Raglan Road (DTD) ADR for a backup plan. I loved Raglan Road on one of our last trips, but honestly there weren't much options. We're going to see if any Liberty Tree Tavern spots ever open up, but we'll be fine at Raglan Road if we have to be.

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

We've thought about it a little, but we're not sure if it will work this trip. Thanks. We're going to try to get a backup ADR this weekend for sure.

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

Kona Cafe was the last thing we planned, and it just kind of made complete sense. Now that I look at it all, it's almost perfect that it fit in right there on day one and MK. Can't wait!

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

The first night we're there is always just strange feeling after a long drive. And, sometimes it's hard to get in the groove of morning touring on a WDW vacation. Tonga Toast on day one should help speed that up!

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

Ah, thanks... I hadn't looked up the new/current times yet. We started the planning a few weeks ago, but we've had to do a ton of changes to accommodate the other people in our party. I'll have to look at the up-to-date hours for sure, those are kind of important, especially if you look at our...

Help or Criticism on Our WDW Plans (NOV)

GROUP INFORMATION Myself (30) and my wife (32) will be taking our niece (16) down to WDW on Saturday, and we will be staying at Coronado Springs Resort. We will be taking advantage of the "Free Dining" offer. My sister (26) and brother-in-law (27) will arrive on Tuesday night, and they will be...

Bouncing back-and-forth between the mountains until they kick you out for the night.

    Moments can't be duplicated.

I think that's what's great about the shared experience of WDW. Each trip can change, a lot or a little, to the point where it will never be truly the same. But, I'll always feel something special in certain moments. It might not be for the same reason or the same connection, but there's always...

    Favorite original attraction at MK

Sometimes in-between as well, I assume. (Mine is BTMRR or SPLASH, but we always make a few stops at HM on the way.)

    Moments can't be duplicated.

Quick Backstory: Our group tried the kitchen sink, and it ended up being a funny, wild time that was one of the highlights of our trip. Then, on a following trip, we planned on doing it again. The group was slightly different, but we expected it to be another highlight moment. Whether it was...

The guests that Disney does not want

I think it's the dated video and empty room. Just any animatronic or movement would help, otherwise it looks like a diorama I'd see at a run-of-the-mill museum. Believe me, I get the nostalgia argument though. If something clicks for you once, it can get you everytime - there's no apologies...

    Coral Reef Question?

Can't agree more. Plus, I'm a sucker because it's the scene of a classic BMW moment. (Also, that sounds like shrimp I would actually try. It's mostly just PR-speak I'm sure, but man, it sounds like those shrimp have the life!) (Before being killed and eaten, of course.)

The guests that Disney does not want

I absolutely hate the pre-show, and I don't think it's entirely due to just how many times Aerosmith as jumped the shark. To me, I understand what they are trying to do as a set-up, I just think it's boring and ineffective.
