We stayed at Poly last June and got a bus from the Poly bus stop to MGM. I think I remember the bus stopping at GF on the way and it took approx 15 minutes to get to MGM. :)

I totally agree. I went back last June for the first time in 14 years and was VERY disappointed that they had knocked out all the walls and joined most of the stores. Totally takes away the quaint atmosphere of Main Street! Now it just feels like one big attempt to push Disney merchandise...

You should definitely check with your bank about fees before using your atm/switch card/cc overseas. One of my bank atm cards charged me $7 everytime I took money out while abroad in Cannes. I ended up paying $35 in fees that trip.
