EMH - good or bad day to visit a park?

One of my guidebooks says that the park with EMH is the one to avoid that day. But, Friday May 12 is the day we wanted to go to Epcot and that is an Evening EMH day. Any opinions on how bad EMH makes the crowds at a given park?

The next day is morning EMH at MGM Studios and that is the day we were going there. I don't know if we should change our plans or stick with the original plan. :veryconfu

The EMH morning at MGM is great - IF - you plan on getting there as soon as the park opens, hitting all the attractions you want, and then heading out.
It seems to get really packed by 11 am.
At least that is how my expierences have been.

I don't have much expierence with the evening EMHs.

This is just a personal opinion based on my own experience. We tend to go for the morning EMH more than the evening. The park with EMH can be more crowded, but we think it's worth it in the mornings. We always have a park hopper option on our ticket, so we can leave the park if needed. If you are going to have a hopper option, I would suggest going to the morning EMH and only attending the evening if you really want to. All the evening EMHs I've been too have been much more crowded than the mornings. For example...we went to the morning EMH at MGM and rode both Tower and RnR twice before the official opening, got fastpasses and rode each again. That left the entire rest of the day for any other attractions at MGM, letting us be done at that park by 1pm. Another day, we went to evening EMH at MGM and waited for an hour to ride The Great Movie Ride. So, I would try to fit in mornings if I could. BUT, if you don't have a hopper option on your ticket, don't miss a park only because of EMH. Especially if you have a dinner reservation at that park that night or something.

Hope you enjoy your trip!!

i have been to every park more than once when its been EMH evenings and they are the best!! because of the less crowds it feels as if the park is all yours and there is a little queue for the main rides ie soarin. during EMH soarin' had a 20 min wait during normal hours 3 1/2 hours wait :) .

my fave parks are AK and MK especially when its EMH i love just wondering around the parks and listening how different it is during the day and night.

EMH evenings are my ultimate fave coz at night it feels as if to me you get to see a different side to the parks and they normally lay on extra shows and stuff.

We were at Epcot the entire day they had the evening EMH. It was somewhat crowded during the day. However the waits for the EMH were almost walk on. We rode Soarin twice, M:S twice, TT and SSE. The longest wait we encountered was Soarin which was 30 minutes the first time and about 15 the second time we rode it. I loved the evening EMH and will definitely go again.

As far as morning EMH, we got to the MK around 11am - out way too late the night before to get there early :dazzle: . The park was packed, we left without riding anything and went to MGM. When we go back I am planning on trying the morning EMH, riding what we want and then heading to a different park.

What a great question! I was planning on avoiding the parks with the EMH, but now it seems the way to get on more rides with less wait. The problem will be to get everyone up early! :brick:

That is our problem, we can't get everyone up and ready for morning EMH. Teenagers just won't budge out of bed. Love the evening EMH though.

Personally, I think the best thing to do is only go to the EMH hours at that park, but leave and go to a different park for the rest of the day. Same with evening hours: different park during the day, emh at night.

We were there in March and we did the parks with the morning and evening EMH and didn't have much of a problem with crowds. The only park that was bad was Disney Studios for the evening EMH because everyone was at the ToT and RR. The lines for both those rides were huge that night.

here's what we found last week. we went to ak when there we night emh. it was great. the park really emptied out and we got to ride everest twice. now for mk on sunday night, totally different story. we got to the park as wishes was starting. after wishes we found a bench and sat for about 30min. then we headed toward tomorrowland when we saw mickey and minnie in front of the castle. we stopped for a pic. when we finally got to tomorrowland, it was packed. the lines for buzz and space mountain were 30min, which are short for those attractions, but too long for us. well, have a great trip

I have to agree that Evening EMH's are the way to go. The morning EMH's get the park crowded for most of the day. The evening EMH's seem to be less crowded, cooler, nicer atmosphere, and of course longer! (3 hours in the evening, compared to 1 in the morning).

What we found was that the parks seem to empty out of small kids and fills with teenagers and older adults. So the teenagers and adults flock to the bigger thrill rides. The other non-thrill attractions were not very packed. Also the water rides are typical empty at the evening hours as folks don't seem to like getting wet at night (like splash mountain) ...

I have always taken advantage of the EMH. I enjoy the morning's best. Get there as the park opens and you can get a head start on many things. I rode PoTC with my niece one year - we had our own boat because no one was in line yet! I enjoy the extra hours in the park for the day. Have not stayed for the evening EMH though.

Anyone know how crowded the waterparks TL & BB may get during morning EMH's? For the summer they open everyday at 8AM. So how bad does it get by 9AM or is it a small percentage of people that take advantage of it?
