How's Shula's Restaurant or any others at Swan

Oh, Palio was a different story. Wonderful restaurant. The only decent Italian food ever on property, but sadly gone...

How's Shula's Restaurant or any others at Swan

Shula's is outstanding! Pricy, but just about the best steaks available anywhere. Avoid Il Mulino if you have any true appreciation for Italian food. The original in NYC is one of the greatest restaurants in the world, but it's a travesty that the one at WDW is sullying their name. Overpriced...

    Tonga Toast

Depends. I've had the pineapple-macadamia pancakes (far better than the overrated Tonga toast) for dinner at Kona before - just ask nicely! :animwink:

    Kona - lunch?

Lunch is excellent. I can especially recommend the Big Kahuna Burger - one of the best burgers on property. And if you ask nicely, you may be able to get pretty much anything - I've had the pineapple-macadamia pancakes (far better than the overrated Tonga toast) for dinner before! :slurp:

    Best Resort Dining?

Citricos. Best restaurant on property (that's not V&A, which is in a class by itself).

    No vacancy

Yes, park attendance is usually light at that time of year, but it is prime season for DVC members. It is value season, so fewer points are needed to book rooms, and there is the attraction of the Christmas season being in full swing. That's one of the reasons I own points at VWL - it's pretty...

Twilight Tower of Terror 13K Questions

I ran it last year, and did not take any chances with the buses. Stayed at the Boardwalk and walked from there - very pleasant, and no worries about being on time. I would have no problem walking from Le Cellier through the Boardwalk and over to DHS, but I guess that's something you'd need to...

    Favorite Park Music

If You Had Wings. Conjures up so many fabulous childhood memories of when we were out of tickets and would just ride it over and over and over...

    Where would you add on?

I've got points at VWL (for Christmas), BWV (for F&W), and VGC (for an occasional trip out west). Never had any trouble getting into any of the other DVC resorts at 7 months (and I've gotten so-called "tough" ressies like BCV at F&W and recently BLT for the marathon). Only place I can see...

    2011 Marathon

The crowds after the marathon are generally pretty light until MLK weekend when they pick up again. One other thing to think about with where to stay is transportation. Although there are buses to the race start from all the resorts, this can be a bit iffy with traffic. I even had a bus...

    2011 Marathon

Can't help you with package deals, because I usually go on my DVC points. However, for training schedules, when to start, how to build, etc., I highly recommend Hal Higdon's site (don't know if I'm allowed to post the link here but it's easy to find from a search engine). Good luck!

    Narcoossee's or Citricos?

Citricos. Hands down. No question. Best restaurant on property (except perhaps V&As, which is really in a class by itself).

    Menu Recommendations

One thing I can tell you is that the burger at Le Cellier is absolutely fabulous. And although they're quite different, it's a toss-up between that one and Beaches and Cream for the best burger on property.

Can you remember 'If You Had Wings'?

I loved that ride. My sister and I went on it over and over again, because as others have mentioned, there was never much of a wait, it got you out of the heat, and you didn't need a ticket. We even made up some of our own (unprintable) lyrics to the song

    donalds safari breakfast reviews/opinions??

Went this morning. The characters were great. Our server was excellent. The food was mediocre at best - much of the food that should have been hot was downright cold.

Best steak in Disney or Orlando?

Shula's. Expensive but hands-down the best.

    You've stayed where....?

Sorry, not gonna happen. No offense to those who stay there, but I think I'd rather sleep in my car. From my experience, it would probably be quieter, and almost as spacious.
