Terralina Crafted Italian - Portobello at Disney Springs closing soon for major refurbishment

Reservations now available through MDE - made one for December. Availability appears to begin at the end of July. I would suspect opening will be some time before that as it seems WDW restauarant openings recently have not taken ADRs for an initial period of time

New gastropub to replace Captain's Grille at Disney's Yacht Club

Does anyone know if a breakfast buffet will be available? That was our favorite at the Captain's Grille.

Can you refuse "Magic Bands" ?

The first time I used a MagicBand, the skin on my wrist broke out within about 10-15 minutes. And that wasn't even on a hot sweaty day. I've used cards ever since. No problem just carrying it in my wallet, and they've always worked fine. Might try the disc if it's easy to attach to my keyring.

Epcot parking lot closed due to reaching capacity (Sat Oct 22 2016)

Florida and Florida State both have off weeks. Always boosts the F&W crowds when that happens.

Animal Kingdom After Dark Experience Info on WDW Website

Everest at night is a truly magical experience. There's some lighting, but the best part is how far you can see as you go up the mountain.

    WDW 45th Anniversary

The funniest thing about that show was the poor ducks. We were down close to the water, and at the end of the usual show a flock of ducks came out from a secluded place back into the water. They pretty clearly had the show memorized, and knew when it was safe to come back out. But they weren't...

    FP+ Tiers eliminated

Just did it on my iPhone for our December trip - Soarin' and TT at EPCOT, and TSMM and RnRC at DHS.

Maelstrom going down in October (no FP+)?

True, but I didn't see anything about specific dates, and I'm not making any claims about Frozen. BTW, I went back into MDE, and Maelstrom appears to be available for FP+ up to 9/27, but not after (at least for dates I can see).

Maelstrom going down in October (no FP+)?

Just been making FP+ reservations for October, and discovered that Maelstrom is not available to choose on 10/5 or 10/6. Checked MDE both online and through the iPhone app. Hadn't seen anything definitive about a refurb, but... Mods please feel free to merge with an existing thread if...

Festival of the Lion King moving to Africa

Just to clarify, the Yeti IS real-world (after all, haven't you seen all the evidence in the queue? ;) ), though I would agree it is not current, given that it's perpetually in B-mode or worse...

    D23’s Epcot 30th Anniversary celebration

I see your point, but as a passholder, I'm happier with the current pricing structure (though not the actual prices).

Which park is laid out the best and the worst?

EPCOT is my favorite park, but it's definitely the worst layout. It's the only park that has a major attraction (SSE) right at the entrance creating a bottleneck. All the other parks require some walking, decision making, and splitting up of the crowd to get to any major destination.

    How good is Kouzzinas????

Breakfast was OK - pretty typical. Dinner was very disappointing - had a large party with a variety of dishes at the table, and no one really thought anything was very good.

How good is the food at Mama Melrose, really???

Had lunch there a few months ago. Mediocre food at best in terms of taste. And then it made me sick causing me to have to miss my California Grill dinner reservation, so definitely never going back

    steak: yachtsman or shula's

Yachtsman is very good, but Shula's IMO is better. In fact, just about some of the best steaks I have ever had. As to the setting, I'm not sure that I would consider Shula's more formal, but it is definitely less Disney. It has a very corporate atmosphere - seems to be mainly business types...

    Citricos vs. Narcoossee's-which one???

No contest, at least IMHO. The food at Citricos is FAR better. The best on property (other than V&A).

    Cape May Cafe

I think it's great even if you don't like seafood. The roasted chicken is very flavorful, the ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender, and the sausage and peppers is excellent.
