    Walt Disney lived there

The kid I was talking to was speaking out of ignorance, and was honestly sorry. Like most people, including the lady the original posters spoke too, he was passing down a story that he heard.

    Walt Disney lived there

He was telling the crowd how we built the Beast's castle because you couldn't go into Cinderella's castle at lunch, told the story of Maurice's cottage wrong, and some other made up stuff.

    BOG Lumiere

The way Lumiere works in his present place, his base moves like the movie and his arms have fluid motion, couldn't work as a stand alone AA like Remy. My wife and I had dinner there the other night, and personally I don't think I missed him.

Tony Baxter has announced his retirement, effective TOMORROW 2/1/13

When Tony and Marty were out in October, I got to walk Tony through Gaston's Village and BOG. It was refreshing to see him, eyes aglow, taking pictures like a tourist, just purely excited about what he was seeing. The best Imagineers are the ones secure enough in their own skin to enjoy other...

    Walt Disney lived there

Happens on here all the time. My wife taught me to let this go a long time ago, as long as it's not hurting anyone. I did stop a cast member one time giving false information about the Fantasyland expansion to a group of onlookers, but that is a different scenario.

    The Value of a Rumor

I wasn't taking a shot at mechanical engineers, it's just that working on the minute details of a prototype can get a little tedious sometimes. The engineers love it, but I don't think it would make for good guest tours.

    The Value of a Rumor

I don't get here much, so it takes a while to catch up on threads. I've always wondered, if you honestly thought about it, would you want rumors confirmed? Is it better to hear a rumor and discuss it, or have it verified as soon as it comes out? Would you like to know if what someone says is...

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

My wife asked me why I come on these boards, and I used to have a reason. I don't anymore. May you all get out of Disney whatever you wish.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

I disagree. It was an amazing thing to watch, and if you could do it once why wouldn't you?

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

Fair enough, but I still think individual opinions would have changed if those people were at the events described.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

I don't know, and I don't pretend to defend the marketing division. I don't agree with what they did, I just understand it. Except for the whole build up, which I didn't watch.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

I get the thinking behind doing it for the media, if you only had one chance to do it.
  13. WED Purist

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

Makes ya think about what? I don't hide anything, but I don't give out information that would get me in trouble either. Sure I know.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

The fox couldn't get the grapes, so he justified the fact that he didn't have them by saying that they were probably rotten anyway. I honestly believe that some of the stuff people complain about here would be different if they were the ones invited to the rare moments. I noticed it first with...

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

In the rest of the park? I didn't know that.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

I'm not in marketing. I don't agree with marketing, and I don't like what they've done with the company. I understand what they did here. Has anyone here ever read the parable of the sour grapes?

    Mine Coaster Ride Through.

I don't know why they don't show it in the clip, that's not my department. But I know both.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

Guests in the park could see it. And if they didn't know it was coming it was probably amazing. Even the cast members were pretty impressed.

    Disney Imagineering Testing Dragon

So the marketing department only has one time to show something off, and they choose to show it to vast and varied media types. How is that an "epic fail"? Has anyone here ever read the parable of the sour grapes?

    Mine Coaster Ride Through.

Once again, you are overly pessimistic and wrong. The carts will swing, and the two dimensional CG versions of the dwarves are not the animatronic versions going in the ride.
