Stitch's Great Escape returns for the summer!

#ThatHappened Why say such ridiculous things? And so regularly?

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

    1) Tesla batteries are not "supercapacitor technology" - they are Lithium Ion batteries, bigger versions of the ones in your laptop. 2) It has been said time and time again that these gondolas will NOT be cooled with mechanical means. Naturally forced air ventilation will be used, which will be...

    Mission:Space update (confirmed)

That doesn't work with centrifugal force. Spinning clockwise or counterclockwise, people will feel the same thing. Linear forces are different, because you have a negative and positive direction.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

I know the owner of the skyride you rode in St. Thomas, to get to Paradise Point. This is definitely an interesting choice on Disney's part. Weird, but hey, it may work.

Stance coming to Disney Springs Town Center

Stance products are pretty great, in my opinion. They just released collegiate designs for the CFB Playoff, and as far as I can tell, the stuff they sell is unique and not really available elsewhere. Plus, they have worked some black magic into the Wholester underwear. I see this store doing...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Industrial GPS for guidance systems can be accurate down to just a few inches. I can assure you, this is not the same type of GPS receiver used in your phone. However, triangulation from an in-park guidance system using radio frequency could be an option to supplement the GPS system (or replace...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

It's mainly because, in the industry of entertainment technology, everything works best when people don't realize just how complex most of what we do is. Granted, I don't have a ton of experience (I'm still in school working on a degree in theatrical technology and electrical...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

I've done show automation work, so I feel my skill set is a bit more tuned to this specific instance than just installing apps on my smart phone.

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

What is different here (that you probably have experience in, given that you do know everything) is the involvement of show control systems. Everything must work together, and must work the same, every time.

    WDW Permits 2016

They are incredibly energy efficient because of their large size, and also just really cool to look at. Glad BAF is getting some Disney love.

Soarin' Expansion and new Soarin' Around the World film

It is, but IMAX 15/70 film stock is also different than standard 70mm in that the frames are laid out horizontally and played as such, rather than vertically. This means that IMAX film has an even larger image area than other 70mm formats, and takes up even more feet of film for every second of...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Delaying the opening would not be due to budget cuts. In fact, any delay would be costing them money for every day beyond the scheduled opening. This is a tech thing, it happens. They can still preview the pieces that work to the media, programming a B-mode display to show off the eye candy, but...

D-Luxe Burger coming to Disney Springs

You're exactly right about the layout. No one ever knows where to go or what to do when they've ordered, because it's not really that clear about the outside area being part of Cooke's. I kind of was hoping for improvements during the Disney Springs process, but they probably won't come.

Animal Kingdom After Dark Experience Info on WDW Website

Embarrassment is a powerful thing, at least for visitors from stateside. Plus, I'd imagine bright flashing lights wouldn't be great for the animals' well-being, either, so the drivers should say something. I have hope here.

Animal Kingdom After Dark Experience Info on WDW Website

What are the odds that the drivers will be allowed to call guests out on it in order to discourage it? I'd say pretty good.

4K Digital Projection Mapping Coming to Spaceship Earth?

I don't know how they'd be totally separate from the building, as they were added well after the construction of the buildings they rest on. But yes, they would have systems in place to ensure they remain aligned properly and return to the correct position when lifted into place for the evening.
