    Travelling on a dime

So you will have a car! That is good - opens up some options for you. I would recommend the Comfort Inn in Lake Buena Vista. It isn't the best, certainly not up to Disney standards, but for what you get for the price and location, I think it may be your best deal if you go with a regular hotel...

    Euro Style License Plate

I didn't think they were European - something about them. I was with my brother and he thought they were those fake ones that you can buy online. He had his car for sale anyway. Thanks!

    Travelling on a dime

I am feeling pretty verbose today! My trips to Disney are usually to visit people who work there or in the area. And it can be done really cheap – but you have to think a little less about “Doing Disney” and more about having a fun vacation. I highly recommend a car – can’t stress that enough...

    Euro Style License Plate

I saw a BMW yesterday that had Euro style plates on it, no US plates. But what was odd was that on the left hand side, where the country emblem was, it said USA. No state mentioned that I saw. It did have a German-style logo on there as well (didn't get to read it close enough), but where did...

    Travelling on a dime

If you are not going to rent a car(which I would highly recommend if you can - even if you only rent an economy), you can take the bus from the airport. Not the Mears shuttle or those, but the actual Lynx public bus. You will probably have to make a connection or two, and it may take a while...

A resort built around the exsisting monorail... possible?

Levitation DOES bring up some pretty cool ideas for a hotel. But maybe float will also work, and that could be easier and a lot cheaper. Instead of finding ways to make the ground more solid, perhaps they should dig away what is there and make more water space for a floating type hotel.

    Independent on-property hotels

In most cases, the costs are not the same. While you can pay simillar amounts to some of the cheaper Disney hotels, you are actually staying in a higher class resort than you would be on property. If themeing is your thing, then most of those hotels aren't going to work for you. But if you drive...

    Any Monorail News?

Or, you just take the tram to the AK, and take the monorail all the way to the MK. I don't understand why you are making connections at Epcot and the TTC.

    New monorail handrail configuration trial

The seating configuration in those monorails really sucks. I kind of understand their resoning, but I would really much rather have edge seating with more standing room.

Do last minute deals REALLY Exist???

If you are having trouble with last minute airfare (this is in the US at least), 1st check Jet Blue and Spirit and the other smaller airlines which rarely show up on sites like Expedia. They often still have decent fares available - I have booked only a few days in advance. Also be sure to check...

    Any Monorail News?

Marni- Now you are getting there. I had discussed this in an earlier post, and it too talked about one monorail line connecting all 4 parks. However, I don't think the current monorail really should even be saved. I know that involves a lot more cost to rebuild beams between Epcot and the MK...

Do last minute deals REALLY Exist???

"Deals" or availability? I don't think Disney has any real last minute deals themselves. They aren't hurting enough to. But as pointed out above, if you are trying to get in last minute, they do sometimes have cancellations. But the more they go up on cancellation penalties, the less likely you...

    Any Monorail News?

Again, even as you expressed yourself - you are just coming up with estimated data without any real justification for it or understanding of how it works, and then tossing it out as absolute truth - you are essentially telling people this is how much it will cost when it doesn't. YOU ARE...

    Disney without the parks

If you are willing to adventure beyond the parks, there are tons of things to do in the Orlando area. I would probably start off by heading north on I-4. Thorton Park, which is just to the west of Downtown, is a nice little section of town with lots of restaurants and galleries, and not too...

    Any Monorail News?

By a bunch of people who have no clue about monorails and still insist that switches are difficult and expensive, don't uinderstand teh construction costs and design issue, and are only looking to knock down monorails because they want the money to be spend on new rides to keep them coming back...

Other things to do besides the park

The Wilderness Swamp Trail is the one I was talking about, I think. But where are the canals - they sound interesting to explore. Again, if you have a car, the Orlando area has a bunch of parks to check out. But even if you don't, many of the resorts have nice grounds to wander around...

Other things to do besides the park

Do you have a car? If no, then I would spend time visiting the resorts, maybe play a round of miniature golf or two, Downtown Disney and West Side, and take the boats all over the place. Particularly between Port Orleans Riverside and Downtown Disney, and the small ferry that connects the 7 seas...

    EpcotServo's May 1st Update: Post-Show Tomorrow!

The post show looks cool, although they only had two of the 4 exhibits installed yet. The driving game is the only one I did as the body game only had one station working this weekend. It was pretty much a driving simulation game, and not a great one at that. I still didn't really get how it...

What kind of car did you get?

I now rent through National's Emerald Isle service. It's a tad bit more expensive, but you get to the airport, walk out to the garage, look at the row of cars in your class, and pick the one you want and get in and drive. I had pretty well brace myself for getting stuck with a Malibu (most...

Two Days - is it worth it?

I actually don't know why I want to go. I have something else to do in Orlando, but it is not a big important thing and not worth a trip in itself. I think it has something to do with getting paranoid about the Spaceship Earth thing. That, and to see blue sky and green grass again. I would have...
