    Disney(World) vs. Disney(land)?

WDW pales in comparison to DL. Sorry but as much as I have drank the Disney Kool-Aid, I'm not like a lot of folks on these boards that just whip out their wallet and praise at everything they do. I realize its a business that needs to make money, but I also realize the industry looks at Disney...

    Major DTD update

Disney build a direct ramp from an interstate? In this day and age? Not unless the can put DVC kiosks and pin trading stations directly on that road! :D And at resort prices even for things at DtD, I'm not so sure the locals are going to want to flock here, else they would have built it...

Two coasts: One very different world

Was just at DL right before opening of Cars Land. First off, the whole of DL jst seems to have a newer cleaner appearance to everything. And maybe other than ToT, I think WDW pales in comparison when it comes to amount of "pluses" applied toward overall presentation, upkeep, etc. I've been to...

    No "free dinning" rumor

Spot on. When you stay on property and rely on the buses, which 90% of guests do, you have no choice and take what you got. Stuck the "free" label on it and now its a "perk". I've done the math and have paid rack rate discounts vs. free ddp. In the end, there is such a diminished value since...

    DL vs. WDW

One thing for sure, the park hopping at DL is 10x easier since they are only like 100 yards apart! Also thought the Muppet Theater at DCA seemed "newer" in terms of what the inside looked like and the special effects. Movie was the same including Stadler and Waldorf still wanting to move it...

    DL vs. WDW

After 25+ trips to wdw, we headed to dl for the first time in years. Back when dca was just opened was last time. Dl is just so much cleaner and better kept than wdw. For a park opened in 1955, it's just amazing how charming and appealing it is. Pirates, Big Thunder, Space Mountain, and...

    One More Disney Day....

Being that it was cheaper to fly to from Philadelphia to LA then it was to Orlando, I'm going to have the rare opportunity to be spending Feb 29th at DisneyLand! Begin jealousy here.... :ROFLOL: I'm wondering how different the entertainment and atmosphere will be between DL and WDW. Anybody...

Jim Hill on XPass coming in 2012

The people are so fickle here. When Disney talked about building a boutique park, the AK VIP tour, more overpriced DVC offerings, selling property to build multimillion dollar homes, and RFID tags in mugs to stop guests from stealing soda; I get crucified as someone who hates. I've pointed over...

    Disney World & Taxis??

Deluxe resorts bus service is no better than a values, IMHO. I actually found it worse. While staying at WL, we had to share buses with FtW to the parks. And share with GF and Poly to go DtD! Renting a cab is a great move after the fireworks at Epcot. Back at your hotel in 5 minutes for...

    value vs mod vs deluxe

I've stayed onsite 25+ times over the years from deluxe to values. My thoughts... Value: Not really sure how much of a value it is. Its a motel room and a real small one at that. If its two people on the go, its no big deal. I been there done that. But once you get kids, it gets real...

    Record crowds this month?

I noticed that most places had 20 ounce beers or more too. But realistically, I've had 100 times more problems with hoodlums during Pop Warner:ROFLOL: than drunks at f & w

    Record crowds this month?

I'm at Epcot now. No waits for anything. Walk right up to every kiosk at each country with no lines. What a difference coming during the week makes. And yes you do see people visibly drink during the weekend. It's the locals coming out with their friends for a good time. People need to...

    Record crowds this month?

I'm at DHS right now waiting for Fantasmic. Stadium is probably only 1/3 full. Reserved seating isn't even half full. Toy Story only had 30 minute wait. Never saw that before. ToT was walk on and off at noon. I will agree that MK and Epcot were packed over the weekend. But during the week...

Free 'in-room' wireless internet starting at most Walt Disney World Resorts today

No love for the Values? No free wifi, but sure to to be first to get rfid mugs! I certainly see the ”value”. ;) As far as staying of site and luring me back, it's going to take more than free wifi. I just tether with my phone since I have unlimited data with Sprint. But I really don't see...

Least expensive accommodation for 6-8 adults?

Cheapest and best option is to rent a house through allstarvacationhomes.com. For half to 2/3 of what you are paying for all the rooms, you can get a 3500 sq ft. house with 5 or 6 bedrooms. And in some cases, the houses are closer to some of the WDW parks than some of the hotels. Im staying...

    Parking Fees Question

If it makes you feel any better, I park as far as I can away from the hotel entrance. Its a combination of not wanting to put the squeeze on actual paying guests and most importantly, not arouse suspicion to what I'm doing. :goodnevil

    Parking Fees Question

I know a lot of people are parking at hotels for free, cutting through to the Parks and/or simply using that hotels bus system. I'm guilty of parking at the hotels too many times to count and walking over to a park entrance. Yeah, I know its wrong and not matter what reasoning I have doesn't...

    Bus system for Deluxe Resorts

I agree, but I'm telling you, the first time you get in a bus snafu you won't believe it. I did the Illumination cruise at Epcot. Driver took his time getting back and dropped us off at Yacht Club. We walked back through International Gateway and went counter clockwise around lake to Mexico...

    Bus system for Deluxe Resorts

I fell for the notion that deluxe vs value meant it would awesome service. :ROFLOL: If you do the math, one would think that 2000+ rooms at Pop versus 700 at WL, I will have better service at WL since you can use the boat as well as the buses to get places. Boy was I wrong. I waited an HOUR...

5th Park Opening in Time for WDW's 50th (Jim Hill)

I was thinking what Lee's thinking. Capital expenditures are blown for the forseeable future from Avatar and current efforts to fix the existing issues. Plus the only thing WDW seems interested in building is another DVC. But shhhhhh! The 75,000 units are Disney's best kept secret. :ROFLOL:
