DL's dedication speech on WDW planning DVD

I noticed that too. Strange that they changed it. I guess they figured saying that Disneyland was dedicated to "the hard facts that have created America" didn't sound quite so magical. But then, who knows why the marketing dept decides to do anything. :hammer:

    Disney TV Ads

The only of those places I've ever seen commericals for (in MA) are Universal and Kissimee/ St Cloud. Also, from the older batch of commercials people were talking about, my favorite was definitely the middle-aged chubby guy who sucks in his gut upon seeing Cinderella as "So This is Love"...

It is Summertime - Keep the Magic Kingdom Open Late Every Night

It seems if CMs are as overworked as it sounds, it's time for some aggressive hiring. If no one wants to apply, they're gonna have to pay higher wages (those CMs deserve it after all). If Disney were to raise their wages (and they can obviously afford to), they could keep the parks open later...

    "The Voice of the Monorail"

Yup, Jack is still the voice of the airport shuttles as well as the "please stand clear of the doors" guy. In addition to the monorail, he did a lot of park announcements in the 70s. But as the others said, the "voice of the monorail" just changed at the end of last year. I was kinda...

    Disney TV Ads

Yup, they advertise WDW nationally, but DL commercials only air in the western states. Too expensive I guess (since they only want to push WDW). Florida also gets commercials that we don't see in other parts of the country advertising specific rides, shows and events. On a side note, is...

    New Monorail Set

OOOO, could I trouble you to post some pics of those?

So how much is the Disney Corporation worth?

I believe the company value is around 54 billion dollars, but I'm not sure why that number sticks in my mind. Anyhow, it's around there. You can find out by looking at their financial statements, which I'm sure you could find at the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo finance or WDC websites. :animwink:

    Did Pinocchio Haus ever re-open?

I believe the park map said that "italian food" was coming later this summer. I don't know however whether this will require an actual closure to reconfigure the kitchen or if it will stay open throughout.

The Official album of the Walt Disney World Resort: The Happiest Celebration On Earth

The whole "When hinges creak in doorless chambers" narration is from the foyer right before you enter the stretch room and "Grim Grinning Ghosts" is from the graveyard scene. Most of the actual ride narration isn't featured. :animwink:

    An Animal Kingdom EEMH

Well let's not get carried away here. It makes it slightly less tacky, slightly.

    New rule on CoP?!

That's not a new rule, it's been in place for a while. This I know because about a year and a half ago I tried to videotape it anyway (with no external lighting on the camera so as not to disturb others) and they still stopped the ride midway through to remind us there was no videotaping. I...

    Carousel of Progress Mystery Girl

Terribly sad indeed. Though I feel the need to remind you we're calling it "root beer" now. :p

    An Animal Kingdom EEMH

I've done it a couple of times and it's well worth it. I think we got there around 3 or 4, did FotK and the Safari before the park closed, and the rest during the EMH (as the safari closes early). If it's your first time, I wouldn't do it that way, but if you're only worried about getting on...

    Vote for Walt Disney!

I don't think George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, or even Ronald Reagan should be on the list. Their "greatness" is based substantially on partisan opinions. Democrats love Clinton, Republican love Bush, and their legacy has yet to be decided upon- especially Bush who has 3 and a half more years...

They don't need to gut the Great Movie Ride

Unfortunately, rides like the Jungle Cruise, GMR, and Kilamingaro Safaris can be completely ruined when a CM doesn't give it their all. But I'm with you about the "greatness" of the movie ride. I've seen it over and over and it's still one of my favorites, very well done. It surprises me how...

    OMFG: 2 Stitch Billboards REMOVED!!!!!!

I just got back, and unfortunately Stitch is still on the busses (patookie and all), though there are far fewer decals than a few months ago. Also, Stitch is still on the monorail narration welcoming you to "Stitch Kingdom."
