    Leaving to eat

No, we've never done it a day we are in the park. But our first day of arrival in Disney we don't go to a park and we drive to CityWalk at Universal to have dinner at Emeril's and walk around CityWalk. It has become my husband's and my annual tradition.

Leaving a car at a resort.....

I have seen cars towed at the Poly and the Contemporary.

What are the drawbacks to staying at a monorail resort?

Personally, as far as we are concerned, the monorails are about as reliable as the buses. We were stuck on the monorail three times on our last trip--for 15-20 minutes. We normally drive from our resort to each park. This means, we park at MK Ticket & Transportation Center and get on the...

    WL and AKL Deluxe Moderates??

Nice pictures--got them both this time. I agree with what Tigsmom says--I tell that to people all the time on other forums. Disney offers so many different options because there are so many different tastes and preferences. Now, if I could just win the lotto to stay at the Poly or the AKL and...

    WL and AKL Deluxe Moderates??

Your first picture didn't come out so I can't comment. Don't care for and would never stay at the GF either. They are both beautiful resorts for the type they are--they just are not us at all.

    WL and AKL Deluxe Moderates??

I agree with you. The WL reminds me of a lodge I saw in Colorado at one point (and that reminds me of snow and I live in Chicago--don't want to be reminded of that). That is why we choose the CSR--nice southwest theme, palm trees out my window, etc., and the price is right.

    WL and AKL Deluxe Moderates??

Yes, all rooms were converted to two queen beds (except the 100 rooms getting the new king beds); they are also getting new furniture, flat screen televisions, sliding doors between the bedroom and bathroom; a fitness center/spa and a new nightime lounge with a dj after 9 p.m.

Whats your experience been with Whispering Canyon Cafe???

We didn't care for it--found it very overrated as far as the food was concerned and the service was terrible (we were there for two hours). It has joined our short list of places we will not return (unless we try it for breakfast some time).

    Caribbean Resort Room?

Here are a couple of pictures. I do not have answers to any questions as we've never stayed at CBR and doubt we ever will (we are CSR lovers). As adults, the rooms don't do anything for us, but I think kids will really get a kick out of them. Enjoy:

    On Propert Suites Choice questions

We were upgraded to a junior suite at the Coronado in September for our 25th wedding anniversary. It is basically two connecting rooms. But you can close the doors between the two rooms. DH was taking a nap one day and I was doing some paperwork and watching television and closed the door...

    WDW in September

We love September. We don't mind the heat or humidity--we live in Chicago and we are sick of winter already and it just basically began a few weeks ago. We have gone September 1 - 9 (or 10) the last three years. This year, because of hubby's job, we have to go September 20-29. I'd prefer the...

    CS Club Level NOT ready?

I love the Polynesian. We've stayed about three times. It is our second favorite resort after CSR. We stopped staying at Poly because we have two kids in college and we just couldn't justify the cost. Have a great time and, hopefully, you can try CL at the CSR another time.

    Worst Dining Places

We never ate there. But we thought their counter service was awful--rather eat at McDonald's seven nights a week.

    CS Club Level NOT ready?

I understand there have been some glitches in the Club Service and they haveh put it temporarily on hold. Several people have received phone calls to explain the sitaution and be moved to another resort (I know some are going to the Yacht and some to the Beach Club).

    Pirate Rooms

If you want to send me a private message, I will give you link to another site where you can see them. They look cute for kids (not something my 56 year old DH or I would appreciate).

    Resort Mugs?

Yep, they still have them. I got one in September. :sohappy:

    Contemporary Questions - Help!

Depending on when you are going, I know that the CR pool is being or will be renovated soon. It is our least favorite pool of all the resorts we've stayed at. We've done the Tower and the Garden. We were upgraded to Tower the first year we stayed there with a view of the castle. While very nice...

    2009 Dining Plan

I read that someone made their dining reservations and it was confirmed that all the restaurants listed on the link I posted are in fact on the dining plan. She said she was told that Disney was a "little behind" on updating and that the list should be updated in the next week or so. :veryconfu

    2009 Dining Plan

Saw a new, updated as of 12/18/08, brochure for dining plan and all CSR restaurants and all restaurants from last year (I believe) from World Showcase, Yak & Yeti at Animal Kingdom, have signed on for 2009.
