    Resort Upgrades

I think upgrades are extremely sparse at the value, moderate, and DVC resorts. Why? Because there are not too many room categories like at the deluxe resorts (view, club level, etc.) I've been upgraded 3 times, but I had an "in person" that was responsible for the upgrade. It's very nice and...

My view at the grand floridian

I am so jealous of you right now! I would do anything to be back at the Grand. Give Boca Chica my regards ;)

Best building for grand floridian garden view

I am a big fan of Boca Chica. I think the location is good (proximity to the pool and main building.) All the buildings are relatively close to the main building (one of the reasons I just love the layout of the Grand.) Big Pine Key is nice too, but I've heard horror stories about that building...

Why I struggle choosing a resort

I don't find that Grand to be stuffy at all! Maybe because I am used to it? I don't know. Some of your complaints (i.e. Polynesian and Saratoga Springs) are totally valid though. I have no idea what people see in those two resorts. I know I'm going to get attack by Poly fans!

Swan or Poly or Grand Floridian for first two nights?

You are so lucky!!! $299 at the GF is UNHEARD OF since about 2003! OMG go for it! I have never paid under $389 at the GF.

Your ideal resort/room stay for a WDW vacation

I would take any room available at the Grand Floridian. Stayed in pretty much all the categories (except outer lodge suite) and the room/view doesn't matter to me, as long as I'm at the GF. Although I will say, the gold room keys add a nice touch ;)

    Boardwalk Villa Room Views

My understanding is non-DVC members cannot book any other view besides standard. The Boardwalk and Pool views are reserved for DVC members using their points.

Will Carnival Cruise Incident Affect Disney Cruise Line?

I have been on many cruise lines from the top of the top (Oceania and Celebrity) to the middles (Royal Caribbean and Princess) to the lows (Carnival...once and NEVER AGAIN.) Without a doubt, Disney Cruise Line is the best, has always been the best, and will never be trumped by any cruise line...

    What do you miss?

SpectroMagic Riding in the front of the Monorail The magic of the first trip ever Enough said. Oh, and free upgrades to concierge level at the Grand Flo by my cousin :)

Am I stupid for not choosing grand floridian?

This is a toughy. I really really love the Boardwalk, but my heart is with the Grand Floridian. It all depends on personal preference.

    Free Resort Upgrades

My cousin worked at the Grand Floridian convention center years ago, so we would always book there. Usually a garden view. Every time we would pull up to the entrance we were whisked away to Sugar Loaf! It was so nice...happened like 3 times. Then he moved to Boardwalk and couldn't do much about...

Want that 'grand' Grand Floridian scent?! Here it is...

I have been looking for the GF smell FOREVER! THANK YOU!!!

Floridian Garden View vs Boardwalk Inn Water View

This is a toughy. Being DVC I really like Boardwalk but I am a diehard Grand Floridian fan. It's just so luxurious and for such a special occasion such as an anniversary (congratulations!) I would pick the GF. The GF has that extra step above the other deluxe resorts...after all, it is the flagship!

    Where to stay?

Go for the gold and pick the Grand Floridian. The only problem is you will be disappointed with anything lower than a deluxe resort when going back for future vacations.

The Resort Dreams Are Made Of!

My first time ever at Disney, we stayed at the Grand Floridian so I was blown away.

    Get Me Outa This Resort!

I miss the days of when staying at the GF, the kids were well-behaved, classy kids. Now they are either foreign or very ill behaved!!!

How many only sleep, wash, poop in their resort and how many...?

I believe the resort is half the vacation! Especially when you have been to the parks so many times. Some of the most fun times we have at Disney are at the resort: listening to the GF band before a late night swim, a stroll on the Boardwalk, etc. We love it, and that's why we choose deluxe...

Well, everything has been resolved. I got my Club Level room with Lagoon View at Yacht Club. I'm happy.

    Perfect Disney Trip

My perfect vacation would be a week's stay at the Grand Floridian, Royal Palm Club with Theme Park View during a week in mid-October. It's the best weather and the Food & Wine Festival cannot be beat!
