Even so, it's just dumbing down the ambiance. It upsets me because that resort really is my favorite and for sentimental reasons.

The rooms aren't in great condition, newspaper delivery was stopped, turn down service is only received if you ask (from my experience)...

Does the GF still have upgraded toiletries? I know that the whole WDW got new amenities but if they standardized the toiletries there, it is just another downgrade for the GF! It seems that Disney's flagship resort's price continues to creep up but the amenities (standard and special to the GF)...

We have a tradition of going to the hotel, getting on a bus/monorail to MK, and starting with Adventureland and making our way around.

I was attacked by seagulls in Epcot while walking to a bench to eat my fried dough. They dive bombed me an took the thing right out of my hand. All you could see was a puff of powdered sugar and bags went everywhere. I was on the ground and people were all around me...I was SOOOO embarrassed!

I am biased to the Grand Floridian, so I would scrap the Contemporary and spend the few extra dollars for the GF... garden view is fine, don't listen to people who say there is no other way to go besides MK view or concierge level. The whole place is nice.

Florida Mall and Mall at Millenia (my favorite mall ever) are both easily accessible by cab... about 25-35 minute drive to each.

Deluxe Studio is small but very modern and clean.

It's funny... I respect everyone that loves the Poly because I get the nostalgia and ambiance everyone loves, but I can't stand it! The Grand Floridian is definitely the one for me.

Let's not forget good old Tower of Terror, which by the way, the first time I saw that movie was at the Grand Floridian back in 2000.

We use taxis more in Orlando than in NYC!!! LOL just make sure if you are going to use one, have bell services call one or just pick a Mears cab. They are the only licensed taxi drivers allowed on Disney property.

I'm biased to the Grand Floridian, so I will always recommend it there. Poly and Cont seem dated to me. GF could use updates, but it's the best of the three. I wouldn't want you to be disappointed on such a special trip.
