New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

As had been said numerous times and ways in this thread. The only thing that is actually "abuse" under the old system was outright lying to get it. But, this boiled down to this system(being used as intended) breaking WDW entire operation when being used by a certain threshold of guests every...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Disney does have the main difference of a much larger majority of their attractions being far more accessible. Even just going off 1 thing, size of riders, Disney is more friendly. Let alone intensity, accessible lines, ride type, etc. There are less rides at Disney that people would look at...

Return to line, rider swap, the new party split policy, and talking mother's at the ride to see what other options are available.

No, they just won't do rides over a certain wait time according to them.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

No, they talked about different strategies to wait in line and some of the alternate accommodations they have in place

I Should clarify I'm not referring to myself, just a friend of mine.

This all happens because wait times are controlled by the front line attraction manager via visual queues and reports from other CM's at the greeter and merge positions. None of them are artificially boosting waits. It just takes like 2-5 minutes for a time update to happen. And it relies on...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

I can verify that a mid 20's adult with a job who does have diagnosed Autism was denied a DAS pass after their meeting. The Standard for qualification is high. *edit: not referring to myself, just a friend of mine.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yeah, I said this in my post a few pages back about the info given Directly to CM's. The alternatives do sound hard to swallow and most CM's aren't excited to get screamed at when having to say these things to guests now. Just having a developmental disability is not gonna get you the pass. You...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It's interesting that people can't understand that just because they weren't breaking any rules, doesn't mean the system itself wasn't broken So many people have come in here with hypotheticals that were not breaking rules, but showed why the system itself was flawed. Only to get the arguments...

They know they need more capacity. Even if they start right now, significant capacity increase is years out. And they do have a long list of rides that honestly need extensive refurbs. Which is also a capacity issue. Epcot alone has 3 that need a lot of work just to function properly with...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Ding ding! System worked to well and was far too broadly distributed in their view. The legal requirements for accommodation are so much lower than what Disney provides. Disney is making the choice to overhaul because they felt it was needed and they feel they have strong legal coverage on the...

The one thing is that if they are dealing with less unplanned capacity in the LL, then it won't get backed up as much and therefore the stand by line would move more smoothly. At least that's the theory. Doesn't equate to short lines, more just a smoother operation and experience.

Only a few ppl in Disney probably have the hard numbers. It's more guess work. But anecdotally, I scan far more DAS than G+ when I'm working. At least twice as much. So I believe these educated guesses.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

It would be "keep moving forward with the line" instead of "keep up with the party in front of you and fill in all the available space" Not sure how that applies to shows, but attraction lines will get these language changes. How effectively it gets adopted and trained is anyone's guess.

I might be misunderstanding. The 8% are just the people with passes. As far as I understand the numbers Disney has. It's the other people in the party that Balloon it. If each person with a DAS pass averages only 3 other people on their pass(old system allowed 6), then that 8% of guests are now...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Here is what I will say as far as what ppl who work in operations have to go off of right now: DAS program is entirely run through Disney Central now. Guest Relations has ZERO access to DAS. For either granting passes or adding people to an existing pass. The most that guest relations can do is...

As a bigger individual, I never have worried about riding anything at Disney except FOP and 7 dwarves Universal is like every vehicle is 7 dwarves mine train or something. The difference is vast.

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

Yeah, it's not abuse. Especially in the hands of those that need it. It's really a system working as intended but being flawed which has lead to fraud to get access to the system because it's a better experience when used, even within the confines of intended use. The "abuse" is the fraud to...

Yeah, when I was in charge of booking it for my cousin and his parents(he has Autism and I've got my guest passes so we got him DAS), this was exactly how I figured out to use it. We basically just went in a circle around MK and did literally everything worth doing(we did skip a few things he...
