    Craft Beer

It's a fun place, and you can usually get a table there even when other Boardwalk restaurants are packed. The beer was just ok for me. It's a good place to go with someone who is just learning about craft beer since they have a lot of styles and you can get flights. The beer is fairly "safe"...

    Craft Beer

Jai Alai is a quality American IPA. Cigar City is a decent brewery overall. Their Florida Cracker is a nice Wit too. I found Jai Alai on tap at a few locations inside WDW (ESPN Club for one) and I'm sure it's everywhere offsite. One note about the BaseLine Tap House (and WDW in general). They...

Not Allowed to Go to Resorts Anymore If You Aren't Staying There?

We stayed at the Contemporary with a car a few years back before the parking crackdown, and parking was a real problem. We would often have difficulty finding a parking space, and we watched TONS of people park in our lot and walk over to the Magic Kingdom. It is a shame, because I enjoy...

Animal Kingdom Kidani 2 Bedroom Villa or Old Key West 2 Bedroom Villa

I probably wouldn't, unless you've really wanted to stay at Kidani and see this as a tremendous opportunity. While Kidani is beautiful and fun, it's relatively remote to all the parks except Animal Kingdom (obviously). So for a short 4-day trip, you'll spend more of that precious time riding to...

WDW has lost much of its magic.

The new system has changed things in more ways than we realize. First, my sense is that more FPs are given out than with the old system (I don't know this for a fact but it makes sense with all the advanced planning that people are being trained to do - making FP plans months in advance vs...

WDW has lost much of its magic.

I think the OP makes some valid points, and I've posted before about "vacation value" - what you get for what you spend. Despite high prices I used to argue that Disney provided tremendous value because you got so much for what you spent. This is still true, but due to many of the things the OP...

WDW has lost much of its magic.

I did not know this! I promise you, if I pulled into an outlet mall and was told I had to pay to park, I would be OUT OF THERE. Unless they gave me some kind of voucher worth at least what I paid to park (since we'd spend the money anyway), there is NO WAY I would ever pay to park at a shopping...

    News Passholder Benefits Shifting

That could have something to do with the fact that it's just not a very good ride. I mean, it's nice, it's cute. I'm sure little kids like it, but it just makes me miss Maelstrom. Definitely not worth a FP unless you have a little kid who just loves Frozen.

Rumor New nighttime show at Epcot

I hear the new show will be a salute to all nations, but mostly America.

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

Exactly. If more people had experienced A mode, there would be an uproar to fix the Yeti. As it is, there's just a small vocal minority of fanatics (like me) who are easily dismissed as "crazy". o_O It frustrates me to watch the "making of" documentary where they talk endlessly about how the...

    Parks gone to the dogs...

Rats. There goes my plan. After seeing dozens of pets in the parks last month with "Service Animal" labels on them, I said I was going to bring a chicken on my next trip and label him "SERVICE CHICKEN".

    Finally did Boma

Personally I think it's the best breakfast on property. Really, really good. I would recommend having an open mind and trying some of the more unusual stuff on the buffet. If you don't like it, there's PLENTY of normal stuff to enjoy also. It's pricey (especially for breakfast) but the quality...

Are the dining plans cost effective?

Another related factor... when you have the TS dining plan you want to get the value from it, so that means a LOT of time spent in sit-down restaurants. As much as we love food, our family generally prefers time in the parks doing attractions, etc. So even if it was a financial win (and I don't...

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

I'm almost afraid to ask the question, but... after riding EE last week, the Yeti looks GRAYER than I remember. Is it age? Dust? Burned out bulbs on the disco lights? I'm not sure... I miss "A mode" Yeti tremendously but the rest of the ride seemed decent (minus the hair bands).

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

One of my biggest pet peeves! But I agree - I didn't really have a problem with the park hours this trip. We had a bunch of late nights in the Magic Kingdom (we love doing the MK late at night). I also didn't notice any obvious short-staffing.

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

I actually LIKE Frozen. In fact we own the Blu-Ray and watched it after we got home. The characters are cute and the songs are great. Granted it's more of a kid's movie but I think it's really very well done overall. Maybe the attraction would have been better if they tried to tell the story of...

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

We had cheerleading competitions both weekends, so we saw the crowds increase... and walking through Mexico on May 5th we wondered why it was so crowded and why everyone was drinking so much. Duh. :) I much preferred the crowds during the middle of the week, especially in Epcot. Toy Story...

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

I LOVED "Happily Ever After" fireworks (although I will always love "Wishes" too). We saw the show a few times from Main Street. On our last night we didn't feel like dealing with the crowds again, so we walked around the Grand Floridian and then took a boat to Magic Kingdom (by way of the...

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

Some of the animatronics are pretty good. But the whole thing feels really forced. They kept the existing ride and just overlayed Frozen on it. So when you make that initial climb (where you used to stare into the eye) there is really nothing happening. Then Elsa pushes you backward (for reasons...

The Magic Lives (and I'm a little surprised)

Well at least I'll be a little more positive going forward. I still have concerns (Futureworld in Epcot is sad, Frozen in Norway is an example of why IP synergy doesn't always work, etc) but overall WDW is doing better than I thought.
