Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek - Thoughts?

We are Wyndham owners and DVC owners. Wyndham Bonnet Creek is a favorite of ours. We love the units, lazy rivers, pools and slides, and great location. Wyndham has cracked down on owner point rentals during high demand times. So if you do a private rental from an owner, make sure it is...

Help me understand DVC vs Marriot

Being retired and flexible you should be able to take advantage of the cash getaways. Interval runs Getaway sales every once in a while, too. Interval also has short stay getaways.

Help me understand DVC vs Marriot

If you buy some DVC points you are going to receive a free Interval International Gold account (Interval International is DVC’s trading partner as of January 1, 2022). This relationship will give you access to Interval International’s cash Getaways without having to trade your DVC points. I...

    RCI questions

For Maui, I would consider Ka'anapali Beach Club for a trade - it trades through RCi. I've ate breakfast there many times (we usually stay at the Aston Mahana two doors down). It has a nice pool area with a slide. You don't have to do a tour when you make an RCi exchange, but the resort...

anyone stay at these 3 places???

Hilton Parc Soleil is gorgeous and upscale. It's Hilton's newest vacation club resort in Orlando. The bath tub fills from the ceiling.

    Atlantis resort thru RCI

Harborside Atlantis is no longer available to DVC members since its affiliated exchange company is Interval International. DVC no longer trades with Interval. DVC switched to RCI last year as their trade partner.

    Sheraton Vistana

All of Sheraton Vistana's sections should be updated by early 2011. On Trip Advisor people constantly get Sheraton Vistana and Sheraton Vistana Villages mixed up. Sheraton Vistana Villages is the newer resort over on International Drive. We've stayed at the original Sheraton Vistana in a one...

Any DVC'ers out there think we should have more perks?

Some early buyers at OKW and Vero received free LOS (length of stay) admission for half the occupancy of the unit they booked. I heard that ended in 1999. I wouldn't buy in today if I had to pay over $100 a point.

How many DVC points do you own?

Over the years we've owned 550 DVC points, but now we're down to just 155 - all at SSR. We downsized the DVC points after we bought our Marriott resale week.

    Selling up

We've used the Timeshare Store (sponsor of this board) and they were great to work with. We've bought and sold with them. Look at their listings and that will give you an idea on price.

    DVC & Inverval International

My guess is the DVC resorts still show up on the II website because existing trades made in 2008 go through the year 2009. I occasionally see a DVC property still show up on II from a cancellation - but they are rare since DVC is now with RCI. There's no chance of a DVC for 2010 in II (unless...

    DVC worth it? Thoughts?

If you usually stay in deluxe resorts on property and go light on weekends, it can save you some money. We found after more than 7 years of being members that we were getting pretty tired of staying in studios and wanted larger units when vacationing in Orlando. The upfront cost and maintenance...

Does offsite save money for a disney-only family?

We are DVC members and we also own with Marriott Vacation Club. When we do stay off site, I like to stick with quality I can trust - and that usually means Marriott or Sheraton. We do 3 or 4 trips a year to Orlando - onsite and offsite trips. We enjoy both types of trips. When we're offsite at...

Anyone stay at the Sheraton Vistana Villages?

Sheraton Vistana Villages is VERY nice. We are DVC members and I have absolutely no problem booking extra vacations at the Sheraton when we're not staying on points or need an extra unit. The resort just keeps getting better. They are adding a priate ship pool slide and very nice interactive...

Has Anyone Stayed at Cypress Pointe?

We had a 3 bedroom unit in December 2007. The unit was very clean. There are no elevators (we were in Cypress Pointe I phase). There is no security gate/guard. You are very close to Winn Dixie. Cypress Pointe doesn't have extensive grounds like some of the big Marriott Vacation Club resorts...

    Disney Magical Express--Interval DVC Usage

The original poster traded through Interval International (another timeshare they own) and got lucky and traded into DVC. Interval International is an exchange company based in Miami, FL. Hyatt Vacation Club, Disney Vacation Club, Marriott Vacation Club, etc., all trade via Interval...

    Disney Magical Express--Interval DVC Usage

Look on your Interval confirmation certificate on the 2nd page under "important information." There's a 1-800 number for DVC Member Services. Call that number and Member Services can set up your Magical Express transportation. You'll need your flight numbers. Member Services can also book dining...

DVC Members - Share the Magic

We had been going to Disney and staying on site since about 1996. The first time we noticed the DVC booth was in 2000. Then in 2001 we stayed over the weekend at WL. My husband and I were sitting at the quiet pool at the VWL and I made the comment, "gosh, I bet you have to be rich to buy in and...
