    AVATAR land - the specifics

Assuming that it's the same ride technology as was used in Shanghai POC, the boats can move faster and slower - and theoretically stop. They can also rotate and move sideways - even backwards - in theory. I have heard nothing about how much of this technology will actually be used in the ride.

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

I know several months ago someone did the math and 3 showings of ROL would have roughly the same capacity of 2 showings of F! I think the 2 or 3 (during busy times) model is probably the most likely.

Tropical Depression Nine impact to Walt Disney World

Extrapolating from the most current NHC "cone" chart, it looks like it will make landfall, well north of Orlando, at about 1:00 AM on Friday. Weather at your scheduled time of landing will really depend on how much rain it's pushing in front of it.

    AVATAR land construction progress

No "inside info" here, but I'm guessing "late Spring/early Summer"; that will give them a window from the popular Earth Day opening rumor through July 4th. Unless, of course, they are way behind schedule...

New nighttime show 'Rivers of Light' confirmed to be coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom

Once upon a time I did, but after a couple of months it becomes like a new language. But MRFF got me too. But "castle shows" are so far down on my list of things I try to keep track of, it doesn't surprise me...

Paint the night is not moving to Disney World. Stop bumping this.

Well.... Based on today's announcement, your down to 50% on your certainty rating...

Major refurbishment of the Flying Fish Cafe beginning in February 2016

Although I have eaten at the "old" FF, I had no special attachment to either the menu or the decor. The food was good, but on the whole it was my least favorite of the Disney Signatures, and one I only went to if I was with a group that wanted to go. A lot of that was the atmosphere. I'm kind of...

News Disney Not Renewing Great Movie Ride Sponsorship Deal with TCM ; Attraction to Close

This is what I have been hoping for ever since MGM bowed out of the park. With the hundreds of animated and live action films, TV shows, and theatrical shorts, there's enough material to fill SEVERAL GMR-sized ride buildings...

    AVATAR land - the specifics

Trader Sam's after 8:00 PM is 21 and over. Jellyroll's and Atlantic Dance Hall are both 21 and over at all times. I think all "bars", at least in the resorts, should follow this same model...

    AVATAR land - the specifics

PETA doesn't care if they are being "trained" or not. ALL animals in any kind of "captivity" offends them - including you cat who sits on your lap purring or your dog who keeps barking at you to throw the ball.

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

I just read a rumor on the site that shall not be named that the GotG rides may be announced at the San Diego Comicon this weekend, possibly as part of the Marvel panel. Can anyone confirm or deny?

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

They are desperate to add something - anything - Marvel into WDW and GotG is about the only IP they can use. It's "kind of" futuristic, and it's Future World, so I guess that all that Disney needs these days.

Guardians of the Galaxy coming to Energy Pavilion at Epcot

Test Track was NOT an improvement over World of Motion. An unthrilling thrill ride replacing a classic dark ride. To me its like ripping out SE and replacing it with a "family" roller coaster...

PizzeRizzo announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios - Was: Rumor: Pizza Planet/Mama Melrose closing?

Of course there was the "chicken and vegetables" pizza that I had at Tokyo DL. The veggies were green pepper, black olive, and corn niblets. The sauce was a fluorescent yellow curry sauce. Curry and mozzarella do NOT belong on the same dish...

PizzeRizzo announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios - Was: Rumor: Pizza Planet/Mama Melrose closing?

Just like the current iteration of Akershus has "Norwegian" food... I think the best we could hope for is generic meatballs in a gravy that they pass off as "Swedish meatballs"...

PizzeRizzo announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios - Was: Rumor: Pizza Planet/Mama Melrose closing?

For the most part I hate WDW QS pizza and won't touch it. PP, on the other hand, was tolerable and was about the only QS in DHS that I would eat. If I was a gambling sort of person, and knowing how Disney has been doing things lately, I guessing it will be the exact same pizza in a re-themed...

Swiss Family Treehouse closed for refurbishment 6th July 2016 - 24th September 2016.

My heart goes out to you that you find this gentle attraction boring and can only do it once or twice a year. For those of us who only get to WDW once every 2 or 3 or 5 years, it's a rather pleasant addition and a nostalgic reminder of our first visits to the park in the 70s and 80s.

Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

LM opened in DCA well over a year before it did in WDW. The rides themselves are identical, it's just that WDW got the mother of all queues to handle the vast hords of people waiting to ride it. DL actually got the "improvements before WDW did. DCA got Grizzly River Run - the quality of ride...
