This. So you were off by a lot. Certainly not what Disney wanted though. Joker has legs and it was also up against Zombieland II. IMO this was another example of poor Disney marketing along with poor placement on the movie calendar. Even if the movie is bad, they should be able to get a...

    Bagless at Christmas?

They have bagless lines...sometimes. It basically is a sign they can put up and take down. I believe they use bagless lines unless it is really busy and they need that lane for everyone.

Avengers Campus - Reactions / Reviews

In a vacuum Guardians is a really fun ride and gives you a unique experience/sensation within the resort. My only issues with the attraction stem from the moment you walk outside the ride. (attraction exterior, land/park thematic integrity, etc.)

So uh.. What Now For Disneyland Resort?

@Darkbeer1 hits it on the head with focusing on infrastructure. They have to move the deck chairs so to speak so they can set up their next phase. This is also a way to help the guest experience by making getting in and out of the resort less stressful. Like the result or not they just...

And Bob Igers favorite ride is..

Attendance growth and profits have accelerated since he took over. I'd love to hear about Everest being a better ROI than Pixar or Marvel. His job is to bring shareholder value and he has done that. He has shown he knows what he is doing because of the results that were achieved. The...

And Bob Igers favorite ride is..

So your point is that Disney is only directly coughing up $20 billion over five years in the parks? As if that is some sort of small investment? Disney fans are hard to please indeed. As I've said, he was spending. He was growing a new business for the company. That takes a larger initial...

And Bob Igers favorite ride is..

Shanghai opened in summer 2016. It adds roughly 10 million a year to the attendance number since then. During earnings calls, Disney will mention domestic attendance numbers and they are almost always up year over year even with no new parks in the US, I understand most people are only...

And Bob Igers favorite ride is..

I honestly don't the answer. I don't have any access to the data. However, it seems obvious that until this summer that no matter how much Disney raised prices, attendance still rose. The market clearly was bearing what Disney was charging and then some. If guests are willing to pay $25 for...

"Michael Nathanson, a longtime media analyst, estimates that Disney will spend $24 billion on new attractions, hotels and ships over the next five years. That’s more than Disney paid for Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm combined."...

Theme Park Revenue Look, I'm going to have many if any supports of this point of view with all the uber negative anything Disney has done post 2000 is the worst crowd that permeate the forums. However, Iger must be doing something right as the numbers keep going up. I would not call it...

Iger has answered this before and said Pirates in those instances as well. I've heard him talk about the parks enough and he definitely knows and understands them well. Because a few of you don't like the decisions he makes, doesn't mean he has no clue what's going on.

Disney fans can love other companies, too - OCR/SCNG

Maybe it depends on your definition of competition, but I put Disney in another class than every other theme park operator out there. In that context Disney has no competition. Universal has made great strides and perhaps is on the doorstep. They have reached Disney level quality in some...

News Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Disneyland opening reports/reviews

This isn't really a GE thing, it's a resort wide thing. You constantly see CM's in pairs or more standing around in places where really only one person is needed. On Friday night the park was jammed and a massive line at the corn dog cart on Main St. CM's inside were working hard inside, but...

I believe it makes more than $50 in two weeks. ;) Looks like you said $25 million below unless 20 + 5 no longer equals 25. Even at $50 million over 2 weeks I say it goes over that easy.

Apple and Oranges. I'll bet you Maleficent 2 does better than $25 million after 2 weekends, which is what you predicated.

The first one did $750 million globally. I'm not a fan either, but it will do much more than $25 million over its first 2 weekends.

What's with the wait times!? (hint.. they're low)

Couple notes from being at DLR yesterday. - If someone read about Disneyland being dead and then going yesterday, they would think everyone was crazy. Wall to wall people. It was very difficult to move around. - I am liking GE more and more with each visit. - Possibly an isolated incident...

Disneyland's Marketing Strategy for 2020??? Because 2019 Was A Mess!

I'd be curious at some of their numbers. Attendance is obviously not what was forecast. Same is likely for food. However Oga's remains a full house at almost all hours, the lightsaber experience is doing well. Chapek can't completely make up that comment. My guess is that they are still...

    Mickey and Friends New Signs

WDI would charge $25K per sign and create an elaborate backstory involving Mickey and his pals hand drawing them so their friends would not get lost on their way back to their car from visiting them. Then the Disney Parks Blog post would write about and be picked up by every Disney related blog...
