What if you owned the Disney Parks?

There's a significant amount of space behind new Fantasyland that's more than enough for multiple new attractions. If you look on Google Earth, you can see the bus route immediately behind Belle's village and Be Our Guest that takes the Cast Members into the utilidors. However, if you bridge it...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

I don't agree that it's unrealistic. Disney remained top of the game because they were defined by that quality and reputation for uniqueness. IP can be used tastefully but this current era of essentially creating empty, clickbait attractions that bring in people through franchise name only is...

What if you owned the Disney Parks?

Since my initial Magic Kingdom ideas seemed surprisingly well received, I suppose I'll throw more ideas out there. I'll start with Epcot but if it gets too long, I'll stop there. Changes to Future World: I wouldn't change much at the entrance because I quite like its revival, but I hate the...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

You make compelling arguments, especially in regards to WoM. While I'm extremely disappointed to not have experienced it, I did recognize that it was one of the weaker Future World attractions but couldn't quite place why. Even so, I feel that with the right creative investment, it could have...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

Which makes up, what, 5% of the experience for Spaceship Earth and World of Motion? Those scenes are originally designed to be fantastical and vague, easily updatable by a company that definitely would have continued to update them until Eisner came in. That's not to dismiss how poorly the...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

IP is not an issue as long as its relevant and handled well. Sticking Nemo into Epcot with some half-baked and rushed attraction hasn't helped the park at all. I have no issues with keeping parks relevant, but it needs to be done in a meaningful way. I wouldn't consider spending money on pop...

What if you owned the Disney Parks?

Perhaps Buzz doesn't need to be removed, so much as improved. It's just too static. Even the Disneyland version improves it significantly with the many moving effects triggered when you hit the targets like I would expect from a shooting gallery. While not the best solution, I would be happy...

What if you owned the Disney Parks?

It's fun to speculate. I know that Disney is obviously a business and I would treat it was such, but there's a lot of room to spend money on frivolous detail that current management never would. Operational changes would be: Removing the park reservation system because I just don't care about...

News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Er... they specifically were referring to the pages, not the posts.

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

I wouldn't consider chronicling the history of a particular subject out-dated. The attractions would need updating in the sense that Pirates and HM see quality of life improvements and occasional scene changes/improvements/additions. At a fundamental level though, the strong attraction design...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

I wouldn't equate Epcot's early attractions to a class and if they really lost popularity, why is Spaceship Earth still around (other than it was too expensive for Eisner and now current leadership to touch)? If Hershey's Chocolate World is still popular almost 50 years later, then I see no...

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

Theming wise, I would definitely consider New Orleans and the Mississippi closer to the "frontier" than Georgia ever was. I suppose the idea of the frontier is subjective though, as the earliest Americans would have considered it to be anything west of the Appalachians, rather than the typical...

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

EPCOT Center was never about Walt, but rather the imagination and quality that went into its theme and attractions. It's destruction isn't just about theme, but rather quality as well. A whole slate of attractions on par or better than Pirates or the Haunted Mansion have been lost.

Great watch: The Senseless Death of EPCOT

It's a place that has lost all meaning. Epcot went from being my favorite park, to a place that I now actively hate as I'm always reluctantly dragged there. It's difficult not to be sad and angry with such out-of-touch leadership. I highly recommend this as a companion video as well:

News Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Any idea what they're doing there? Backstage stuff or just expanded pathways, planters and maybe benches?

SeaWorld Orlando's Antarctica Ride Oddly Closed and Silent

Living in Orlando, I've heard from at least a dozen people that this is the case. More recently, I had someone say that the vehicles were already sold. It'll probably just continue to exist as a penguin exhibit that I bypass the line for by just going up the exit.

News Splash Mountain retheme to Princess and the Frog - Tiana's Bayou Adventure

It doesn't seem plausible to me that it would go in Epic, even if Illumination is supposed to have representation there. I was under the assumption that the statement referred to meet and greets and the attraction doesn't seem to fit with the current progress we're seeing in the park. So does...

Anyone know what’s going on with Test Track?

Considering how Cars Road Trip turned out, I wouldn't at all be surprised if they seriously considered putting up cardboard cutouts of Lightning McQueen in there.

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

It's a competently helmed film, but also highly flawed. Like I said, the characters are flanderized and feel inauthentic. Many of the character moments are contrived to the point of feeling cringy, such as the scene where Andy hands his toys down to Bonnie. Also, have you watched it recently...

News Chapek FIRED, Iger New CEO

The recent Pixar films were still developed under Iger though. Lightyear started development in 2019 and now it's a box office bomb (at least by Disney standards)? Perhaps it was Chapek's decision to bring Soul, Luca and Turning Red to Disney+, but I do think that overall, the Pixar brand has...
