News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

Correction: Vekoma first roller coaster was in 1979 and, no, they did not absorb Arrow. Arrow went bankrupt in 2001-2002 and S&S purchased the assets. S&S was then bought by Sansei-Yusoki from Japan and while Sansei bought Vekoma this year, they are not merging both companies. Vekoma is doing...

    Indiana Jones Land?

The original expansion plan for Tokyo DisneySea was much less exciting than the Raging Spirits/Tower of Terror combo that opened in 2005-2006. American Waterfront was originally scheduled to get a pair of dark rides, a pair of Vekoma Mad House inside Sailing Ship Colombia and a pair of dressed...

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

The differences I noticed between the WDW and Paris Catastrophe Canyon: - Different truck model and tanker shape. - The fire effects don't run as long in Paris. They both shared the same effects when they opened and a similar sequence. - Tram parks. - Rain effect with the tanker truck wipes...

    Rumor Soundsational Returning to Disneyland!

I saw Happiness is Here last January and it was amazing for the lesser known characters present as others noted. The Ugly Ducking, bugs from "Woodland Cafe" (a Silly Symphony involving an insect night club), the King of Hearts and many others made the parade really stand out.

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

Disneyland Paris, as people were referring to DLP Indiana Jones Coaster. Cheezbat, mechanically, Raging Spirits is a much better ride. The turns were smoothened out, the restraints are more comfortable and magnetic brakes keep the worst two turns under control. The theming is also amazing, with...

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

Not needed anymore since they changed the rockets. They are now among the most comfortable roller coaster seats in the world and the ride is quite smooth. Amazing fact about Temple du Peril: in 2014, DLP redid the temple in a permanent way and at the same time, had Vekoma (roller coaster...

Rumor Is Indiana Jones Planning an Adventure to Disney's Animal Kingdom?

That's weird! At 6'3. 290 lbs, I was able to ride Space Fantasy with no issues. I've dropped some weight since and I can fit in B&M regular seats with shoulder restraints with no help from the ride ops again. I figure if I lose another 10-15 lbs, I'll be ok to ride Hollywood Dream again.

Random observations from an evening at DLP

I somehow ended up at Disneyland Paris last weekend and I spent a very interesting sunday evening at both parks when my travel plans changed. I went to Liseberg and on the way back, I flew back through Paris and had a free day. No formal trip report, but I will write some observations. -...

    Len Testa Crowd Analysis

It is a lot more insiduous than that and easier to hide than your example. Run one stretch room instead of two at Haunted Mansion, use one loading station on each track at Space Mountain and reduce the number of rockets, run four trains at Big Thunder Mountain, etc. This saves on maintenance of...

News Remy's Ratatouille Adventure coming to Epcot

Spent an evening by accident at DLP last weekend and there is something I hope WDI did their homeworks for at Epcot.... Have proper floors at Ratatouille! Ratatouille at the Walt Disney Studios is currently a very strange experience due to the flooring of the attraction. Basically, they messed...

    A Spirited 15 Rounds ...

Did not see anywhere else, but D23 just enacted a major change. I copied the email they sent to members outside of the US: Effective August 15, 2018, D23 will no longer be able to allow members outside of the United States to sign up, renew or upgrade their D23 Gold and Gold Family Memberships...

Return of Cinemagique at the Walt Disney Studios

I just saw confirmation that Cinemagique will return to the Walt Disney Studios this November. I guess the unreliable and not that good Marvel show was too much of a nightmare to run? Will it return next year? In other news, the well received Big Band Beat that played last year at the other...

    Hong Kong Halloween and ghosts?

You can thank Ocean Paul old entertainment director for HK love of Halloween. The story goes that after 2001 and their new ride flopped, the director proposed a cheap solution to get attendance: an halloween event. Halloween as a word had no signification at that point in Chinese and I was told...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Europa Park will close off its summer season on November 4th this year. The winter season will start on November 24th and end daily operation on January 6th 2019. It will be open an additional weekend on January 12th and 13th 2019 before closing the rest of January, February and reopening late...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Back to Europe for a second: that market is beyond saturated for "theme parks" in western Europe. Let's go to Spain: Port Aventura has that market cornered nicely and even going to Madrid would run into Parque Warner Madrid, which is finally getting traction and is quite successful now. Italy...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Your second point is moot since Universal designed what Genting wanted for the park. No, all theme parks can't cost 2 billion dollars and have infinite space. That Universal Creative was able to have those expansion pads already slotted in was good and the park did not waste time filling it up...

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

For fun, I looked at the capitalization value of Oriental Land Co. right now.... and it is listed at 34.2 billion USD. Just acquiring a controlling stake in the resort for Disney would make the Lucasfilm and Marvel acquisitions look like pocket change.

    Tokyo Disneyland Resort Expansion

Look at a map of Resorts World Sentosa compared to Sentosa Island and it is remarkable what Universal Creative were able to do in the short time they had. Genting and Star Cruises filed their proposal in 2006 and by 2007, construction on the land was starting with an opening in 2010. Its not...
