Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

Anyone know where on this forum the plans for the 3rd ride were posted? Having difficulty finding it. That is if they're still up.

    Imaginations Design Competition

I don't remember for sure, but I think the NDA requires me to stay mum on the project concept we worked on until the competition is completely over (even though we were disqualified). So for safety's sake, and since this is the Internet,I'll stay out of that. As far as team formation...bit...

    Imaginations Design Competition

Was involved with competition this year, though we ended up being disqualified due to a paperwork error. I can try to answer any questions you have. :)

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Not only is a full motion simulator - but a pretty good execution one. Feels a lot better than smugglers run actually. Granted having the ability to do true vertical movement probably helps.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

My inner engineer is curious about a few things and I was wondering if anyone could share some insight? Does anyone know how the ride vehicles actually work? Like not the navigational piece - I get that more or less, but mechanically how the vehicles are able to move in any direction, seemingly...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

The only thing soarin and FOP have in common is that it's a motionbase of some sort in front of a giant screen of some sort. Mechanically, operationally, and even media-tech wise they're completely different.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Rewatching Kylo I'm so impressed by what that AA does after the hull breaks. You don't even notice how crazy it is for an AA to do that cause it just seems so natural.

    WDWRR Question

Nope. You can ride it for as long as you like. When I was a kid we did it once for at least a few hours.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

It's easy to figure out how it's accomplished in retrospect but in person it's quite convincing.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

I would never claim toad is better than ROTR. I would claim a ride just like toad but using all of ROTR's tech would be better though. (Though I think ROTR freaking awesome as is). I'd also claim we don't have to live in a world that's either or. I'd love to see more ROTR style rides and I'd...

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

It feels like there's some slight tilting but no actual vertical movement I'm aware of.

Rise of the Resistance: Lightsaber Through the Ceiling Effect

No inside knowledge here but that is my suspicion as well...I'd actually wager they rotate together on the same rig.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

It's pretty convincing. It helps that in space half of everything is at infinite focus anyway. That combined with the parallax they're able to render because they know the precise position of the ride cars leads to a great illusion. It's not perfect but it's pretty close enough---especially...

Well??? Who’s been on RotR and how was it?!?!?!

Most impressed by an attraction since I was a kid. This will completely redefine what an attraction is going forward.

    Firefly laser effect

Ahhh, I haven't actually seen HEA...didn't realize that was a thing they did.

    Firefly laser effect

The hub in the MK just uses good old fashioned twinkle lights. Been a while since I've been to Animal Kingdom but I believe the firefly effect is either projection or a bliss light.

Is Disneyland Paris better than the parks at WDW?

The land design is stunning - easily the best environments of any castle park. There's not a lot of content to back it up though - I found most of the attractions to be fine but nothing really stood out, and I was left feeling like the lands were surprisingly big for how few attractions were in...

    Fantasyland wood effect?

There is a specific term for it, I'm pretty sure it's mentioned in Younger's Theme Park Design but I don't have a copy near me right now. Most "wood" you see in the parks is essentially plaster sculpted to look like wood - as real wood isn't generally durable enough to stand up to tens of...

You're thinking of Under New Management - where that indeed did happen.
