Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Does anyone here think the current Burrow’s Lament/lift hill sections shouldn’t be (hypothetically) updated to incorporate a sense of peril? Seems like almost everyone is saying the same thing. That said I’m aware this is a theme park message board comprised of people who grew up with Splash...

Just the sight of Lari makes me irrationally angry. It’s like he embodies the smugness of the Imagineering team that gave us this ride.

News New Haunted Mansion Grounds Expansion, Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Resort in 2024

Thank you. Hopefully it is indeed just MK’s B-mode. Otherwise… how depressing.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

What’s the opposite of “plussing” an attraction? But seriously, maybe some of the doors/windows are still closed?

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Yep. All WDI needs to add is a moment of foreshadowing during the HDYD section, a suspenseful scene right before the lift hill, and then a re-tooling of Mama Odie at the top of the lift. There MUST be people within WDI who know the ride needs this.

Until WDI re-tools the fireflies scene and the lift hill, this ride will feel incomplete to me. In its current state, the attraction is “fine” or even “pretty good” but unfinished.

Have you all seen the most recent iteration of Hall of Presidents? Not sure when it was updated, but as of January 2023 I found the show much more nuanced and truthful-to-actual-US-history than the older 1990s/2000s version (at least as far as I remember it). I love Lincoln, but to any “normal”...

Yeah. It’s crazy dated. I view it more as a historical artifact than “the most engaging presentation about Abraham Lincoln possible in 2024.” But again, that’s what I like about it.

I think that’s what I like about it. Even among all the diverse experiences at Disneyland, Lincoln very much has its own distinct sensibility.

We all declare for quality Disneyland attractions, but in using the same words, we do not all mean the same thing.

Definitely shouldn’t ruin the ride for anyone. But it seems like a change my grandma would’ve made if she were put in charge of Disneyland.

I rode the railroad this morning and we experienced a sudden stop and momentary delay leaving the Tomorrowland station. As a result, the audio began playing a minute or so before the train actually left the station. So we heard the scary Primeval World music during the Grand Canyon scene, and...

Yeah. It’s weird. Didn’t used to be like this. I wonder if there’s a recurring issue on that side of the park? Seems coincidental these attractions are all adjacent. Indy, Mansion, & Big Thunder opened at 9. Pirates opened around 9:45. Rise opened around 11 or 11:30.

“Is there a strike happening that we don’t know about?” “Can we sue Bob Iger?” Overheard at Disneyland this morning, as rope drop guests search for something to do while Indy, Pirates, Mansion, Big Thunder, and Rise (among a few other attractions) are all down (and still down, as of 8:40)...

Ever look at the Disneyland subreddit? It's practically dogma over there that CMs must never be held responsible for poor behavior, no matter what. Blame low pay, oppressive work schedules, rude guests -- but never the CM. It's such a bizarre aspect of the "fandom." Again, most CMs are...

You are not alone. As you’ve observed, there are still countless fantastic CMs — but overall CM standards have taken a dive in recent years (post-Covid, IMO). My wife and I are the most low-key, innocuous Disneyland guests imaginable, and we’ve been barked at by aggressive CMs more times than...

Ah yes, Hotel Mel! Sure, Tower of Terror is one of the greatest attractions of all time, but part of me wishes we could’ve seen a Mel Brooks attraction in a Disney park.

RIP Teri Garr! I just rewatched After Hours a few nights ago and was chatting with a friend about how Garr was in so many 70s/80s classics. What was her connection to Disney?

This is a real phenomenon. Disneyland has guests who know what’s up, on account of it being such a locals park. Orlando tourists sometimes need more hand-holding.
