News Disney and Fox come to terms -- announcement soon; huge IP acquisition

One of the worst human beings on the planet. Which is why I'm glad Disney is taking 20th Century Fox and National Geographic away from him.

News Disney and Fox come to terms -- announcement soon; huge IP acquisition

Happily, they haven't done that yet, and the new film is getting amazing reviews, so I'm optimistic.

News Disney and Fox come to terms -- announcement soon; huge IP acquisition

That's an excellent point. With Disney already acting like they own Star Wars (which they sorta do), announcing that they now own all of Star Wars would be confusing. I'm eager for that exact Lucasfilm announcement :)

News Disney and Fox come to terms -- announcement soon; huge IP acquisition

I find it kinda weird that the official press release calls out Avatar, X-Men, Deadpool, and even Grand Budapest Hotel, but doesn't make any mention at all about finally acquiring rights to the original Star Wars trilogy. I'd think that would be a major coup they'd want to announce.

    This looks astoundingly good.

    Vegan/Vegetarian favorites?

The first time I visited WDW as a vegetarian, I followed the advice of WDW themselves and mentioned it on all reservations — no demands or requests, just "one party member is vegetarian". On two separate occasions, a chef came to my table to discuss special veggie options without me requesting...

Rumor Siemens is going to end their sponsorship with the parks - Spaceship Earth and IllumiNations

I do wonder sometimes if either Disney or Siemens had pondered whether they'd be better off with a sponsor for a family theme park whose name doesn't sound quite so much like a male emission.

Limited Edition Trader Sams Mug Coming October 5

I would have to agree with this assessment. When the Haunted Mansion mugs were out last year, even asking the CM at the door about them got a weary response. We asked one server if there were any left and he went from being chipper and chummy to bitter immediately, and muttered something about...

    Hall of Presidents

Nobody, sorry for the confusion. That comment was aimed at the people in the thread intent on posting completely invented facts about the upcoming new resident of the HoP and trying to make this thread political again. One example was in my comment, which was removed by mods.

Let's keep this thread free from both politics and flat-out lies and stick to any actual news about the attraction's future.

It clearly does, since it's being responsibly served to diners.

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

This I will definitely agree with. I enjoyed my Kungaloosh for nostalgia's sake, but you'll get a much better drink by either asking the bartender directly to make one of their personal favorites. Or for a very tasty classic Tiki drink, get either the Krakatoa Punch or the Uh Oa.

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

I'm sure they'd make any of those that the bartenders know about; I've had a Pina Colava there as well, aka a Lava Flow, but that's an extremely popular drink all over Hawaii, so it's not something only 'insiders' would know about.

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

Both times I've been there, I ordered it from my table and the waitperson said "old or new?" so I think it's a request they get a lot. I've gotten the Konk Kooler at the Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian, as well.

Trader Sam's Closed for Refurbishment - Does That Mean The CM's Too?

The "old" version is more of a tiki drink, with Malibu rum & pineapple juice, plus some Midori and cranberry. The "new" version is more of a fruity daiquiri -- strawberry, orange, and blackberry -- and it's a slush. The other thing they'll make on request is the Konk Kooler, the specialty...

    Blue Bayou -- Monte Cristo

Weirdly, the editor at (a competitor site that I'm apparently not allowed to name here) says: "Blue Bayou is now an all-day menu, so it’s the dinner menu only and no Monte Cristo." He's claiming that they removed it from all menus, but perhaps, like you, he didn't get the special insert for lunch.

    Blue Bayou -- Monte Cristo

Thanks, I would actually much rather go there myself, but some of my traveling companions are dead set on going to the Blue Bayou for lunch (both for the Monte Cristo and the atmosphere) so I just want to make sure they won't be too disappointed.

    Blue Bayou -- Monte Cristo

Can anyone confirm the status of the Monte Cristo sandwich at Blue Bayou these days? I'm going there in November and have seen notes on various Disney boards saying that it's either no longer offered at all, is only offered during lunch, or is a "secret menu item" available on request (which...
