SPOILER Agatha All Along, D+, premier 9/18/24

I think it's more Agatha is a greenfield where the majority of the audience didn't have any pre-notions of what they thought the show or characters should be. Compared to Acolyte, where the roles and expectations were so heavily laden with fans that were predisposed on what they should be.. so...

Not only that.. but she used Nicky as part of the scam (the scene in the tavern).. Wish they revealed more about the conception and why Death was there at the birth... surely it was more than simply 'complications' of birthing..

loved the reveal and the final episodes... all the way up to the last 30 seconds or so. Didn't like that part

SPOILER Agatha All Along, D+, premier 9/18/24

this last episode (death...) was def a stronger one.. really had me engaged. I liked how they tied up the loose bits they had been lying all around and the character's personal saga drew you in too. Much more than Alice's or Jen's. I was kinda bored with the 'killing off the group...' thing...

SPOILER Agatha All Along, D+, premier 9/18/24

I'm feeling like I'm going to get a disappointing ending... in terms of where we are left... this plot just doesn't seem to have a great closure setup. So lets say Agatha gets her powers back... then what? Or are we going to get a reformed Agatha who foregoes her powers .. or what. These...

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

I think it should be obvious anyone posting about roller coaster capacity and lower dispatch times (in response to someone saying attractions can't run lower...) would know that dispatch intervals and train count are not independent. And we all already know Disney doesn't run BTMRR at max train...

Then he could have shared with the class vs trying to correct me with a 'TLDR' that isn't even applicable to the point. But, you got something from it.. so interesting for you.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

Yes, we all know about block zones and cascades. Dispatches and # of trains are not independent of each other. And the result is they often simply don't run at max train density -- because it is much harder for them to maintain the dispatch intervals with stupid humans on the platform.

Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

It's completely the opposite. 1- For omni-movers it's about how much you pack into each vehicle or let people decide their own density. 2- For fixed vehicle rides like Astro Orbitor, again rider density AND cycle time. You slow down how many cycles you run per hour due to lower staffing and...

Or.. maybe people could you know.. take the info and not go backwards...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

No - this is how people generate misinformation and generate confusion when they treat cites and facts as something that generally fits their narrative, but isn't actually true itself. Then the next guy regurgitates it as fact... and then people overstate everything in their mission of...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

No - you're taking introductory briefing text and taking it as 'definition'. What is 'definition' is very much spelled out in the law. Title II on the topic is very extensive in terms of carving out what is 'in scope' or not when it comes to the ADA. And it generally has to do with the points...

New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

There was already separate federal regulation for Air Carrier accessibility when the ADA law was passed - hence it was explicitly carved out... vs trying to replace.. which didn't make much sense as air (as well as forms of rail) have a lot of their own silo'd federal regulations. The ADA was...

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

But they don't make money like movies - so comparing them to movies really isn't that practical. And since they've eliminated any licensing or syndication of content... they've narrowed their funnel even more for DTC content. So yeah, I do think we should be worried about the kinds of budgets...

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

'we care' because it's not just about 'over' budget, but just how much the thing costs as a whole. Even 230 vs 180 isn't just 'throw a little extra in there...' that's nearly 25% overrun.. and the details suggest 230 is just the tip of the iceberg... not the wrap up. So my heartburn isn't...

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

But the data point we have is from BEFORE all the post-prod work... so your theory makes things even worse than reported. The data point is from after shooting - but not before post-prod was done.

    SPOILER: The Acolyte -- Disney+ Star Wars -- begins June 5, 2024

Does it matter... we already know the 230mil number is significant and you can frame it relative to other shows. To know it blew it's budget before even the costly post-production is done is well enough to know it will be 'way' over budget.

SPOILER Agatha All Along, D+, premier 9/18/24

Did you miss where everything I was talking about wasn't about Disney? Content ratings, Content Controls, Adulting... none of that is specific to Disney. If someone fails at Adulting... don't blame Disney.

SPOILER Agatha All Along, D+, premier 9/18/24

No, but you're also comparing the means and methods of the past vs what is today... which is DETAILED content warnings at the start of every show... pretty sure it's in the show notes... and viewing platforms that automatically restrict access to content if you want. The idea that disney isn't...
