    Rope drop

Oh, uh, no one should do this plan. It's terrible. Don't listen to us loonies... To be honest, I imagine most people rope dropping go for Mine Train or Space Mountain, so even if it got popular the Splash/Thunder option still wouldn't effect much. I don't even see a line for Pan that early in...

    Rookie w/ weather question

I'd be concerned about the hurricane impacting your flight there. Once you're at Disney, even if it hits, there won't be much to worry about except maybe losing a day or two at the parks. It's bad, but you'll have a good story about it, and Disney is really good about keeping everyone safe...

Solo trip, best time to go?

I've had luck in early May, early September, and I used to have luck with late February/early March (but weather where I live is always an issue and prices keep going up during that time frame). If you have freedom to go whatever time of year you want, try and think of something you've always...

How many of the Disney parks have you been to?

I just got to DisneySea this year, so I've been to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Disneyland, California Adventure, and DisneySea. Hitting Tokyo Disneyland itself and Paris Disney will happen eventually. If I'm somehow near Shanghai or Hong Kong in the future I'll try...

    Rope drop

Depends on time of year and what rides you want to do. I've had plenty of luck rope dropping MK and getting on a bunch of things towards the back of the park (things on the way to Big Thunder, essentially) with little wait before the crowds pick up. The only attraction I can really see...

    Favorite in-park music?

There’s certain areas of the entrance to World Showcase lagoon that’ll play the soundtrack to Impressions de France. Also the entire pre/post Illuminations music loop around the lagoon.

    Favorite park "nap zones"

Peoplemover, Living With The Land, Spaceship Earth, Haunted Mansion, Impressions de France, and Carousel of Progress. This is also a list of my six favorite attractions, so I try not to take too long a nap on them.

    Highest Paid Cast Member

If it’s so dangerous to have Ariel in that position, is there a reason they haven’t swapped her mermaid fins for the aqua dress costume? Tinkerbelle’s appearance is a classic but I’m surprised they leave Ariel like that, it seems unnecessary (though probably great for the cast member).

Rumor Wonders of Life getting an attraction soon?

Now I want a “History Of Science” animatronic show starring those characters in the vein of “American Adventure.”

New Dining Package at Festival of the Lion King

Thanks for calling me a liar. I think I forgot to include the drinks. My point is you have to work to get the price to justify itself. If you’re not actively gaming the system you can easily lose money on the deal, which can be true of the dining plans in general.

New Dining Package at Festival of the Lion King

If you can order anything on the menu for each course and order the most expensive thing for each course you wind up at about $62 for an adult and $26 for a child (not counting drinks). So if you do the higher tier you're paying $37/$23 for VIP seats and a better tour and $13/$3 for just VIP...

Why Walt Disney World Needs a 5th Theme Park By 2025

I agree with the idea that they need to get Epcot, HS, and AK on more even ground before they can justify a 5th gate. It'd also likely be cheaper to improve them than build an entirely new park. I would imagine a 5th gate would either be inevitable or already announced by 2030, but it might not...

New Dining Package at Festival of the Lion King

This is so bizarre. It's not as bad as the Star Wars 'tour' was, I guess. I feel like there's gotta be better options for these things, though. I have no idea what the numbers are for how many people book them, but I'd imagine the cost would be more justifiable if you were actually getting...

Best park for a rainy day?

Magic Kingdom, hands down. Rain drives away crowds and you can find youself with the park almost to yourself. It also kills crowds entirely at Big Thunder, halves them at Mine Train, and even makes the Pan/Small World crossing passable. Epcot is not fun in the rain, it and AK have too much space...

Does someone help me with what happend to Honey I shrunk the Audience??

Do you mean when it closed? They decided to honor Michael Jackson after his death by bringing back Captain EO in place of Honey I Shrunk The Kids, but kept extending its engagement. They replaced that with Disney/Pixar Short Films Festival instead of bringing back Honey I Shrunk The Audience.

    deleted

If I was going to knock out all four in a day, and had to do Slinky/Aliens first (and end with Illuminations), I'd get an early FP for Aliens, rope drop Slinky, and then run to AK for Kilimanjaro and Maharajah and lunch, then head to MK for Mansion (feel free to insert whichever your favorite...

Rumor Brazil (and maybe others) Pavilion Coming to Epcot [not about Brazilian people nor a country wish list]

It's cheap to put him on merch, expensive to give him a new ride. Maybe giving him an E ticket would increase ticket sales, but would it increase ticket sales more than Guardians or Rat? I imagine it's something the Imagineers would like to do, but just can't justify in the way they'd want to.

    Expedition Everest effects status watch

At this point I wonder if the people in the company trying to get the funds/ok for it would have more luck trying to suggest it as a 50th anniversary thing instead of a basic thing that should have been done years ago.

    News Passholder Benefits Shifting

I HATE the new All Stars rooms. Not that the old rooms were amazing, but they actually felt like Disney, instead of generic trash. Having recently been to DisneySea the fact that WDW shares so much packaging with Land frustrates me even more (among other things, obviously, but that fits this...

    News Passholder Benefits Shifting

This is only anecdotal, but this is the first year neither my family nor my best friend’s family have gone to WDW since, like, 2012. Some years we even went multiple times (we are not locals). I’m only going next year because my family is paying, and won’t go back after until SWL dies down (late...
