Best park for a rainy day?

Magic Kingdom, hands down. Rain drives away crowds and you can find youself with the park almost to yourself. It also kills crowds entirely at Big Thunder, halves them at Mine Train, and even makes the Pan/Small World crossing passable. Epcot is not fun in the rain, it and AK have too much space between attractions to make it enjoyable to be there in a downpour. HS doesn't have enough attractions for the drop in attendance to be worth it.

If you want a good animal show, the Safari at AK is spot on in the rain. I've never seen Rhinos frolic around and chase each other. Ever. I have seen it twice now, only in on the rainy days. Also, tigers are out rolling around, and almost all the animals are very lively.

I absolutely love when it rains at Disney World. Probably because I live in the California desert, and really have grown to appreciate precipitation. (never thought I'd say that after my time in Seattle)

Getting drenched in Epcot is my favorite!

If it is going to rain all day, Magic Kingdom it keeps the lines short.
I usually let myself get soaked getting wet does not kill anybody, and I do not buy the "bags" people like wearing.
Summer storm, Epcot wait it out in a set down location World Showcase

Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios...... not a fan of either park.

My favorite is Epcot. I think World showcase pavilions are great from running from the rain drops
Those pavilions are a nice way to wait out storms, but the distance makes for a tricky situation if you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry. One gloomy day we found ourselves at the entrance to WS needing to get to Japan for a dinner reservation. During a tornado watch.

Sprinting through a torrential downpour to make the reservation certainly was memorable. Also memorable: our group (unsuccessfully) trying to dry off in the bathrooms upon our arrival.

I remember making a similar sprint the other way. We had eaten in Alfredo's (it was a while ago) timed so that we would finish just before the fireworks. We could hear the thunder rolling in while we ate. It was pouring when we got outside, and after some delays they cancelled the fireworks. We were staying at the Beach Club, so we decided to make a break for the International Entrance. Passing Japan, in a flash of lightning we saw crowds of people in ponchos taking shelter under the overhangs on the Pagoda. It was eerie. At least we were able to dry off in our own bathroom.

Though I imagine running after a full meal may not be as fun....

A couple years ago it poured almost all day at Epcot. My wife and daughter bailed back to the room, as did about 80% of the people there. I had a FroggToggs rain suit in my backpack. Strolled around Epcot all day by myself. Walked on every ride and checked out a bunch of the countries. It was awesome.

I think it depends on the temperature. Two trips ago it rained every day from 12-about 3 (you know, typical Florida stuff lol) MK wasn't an issues, so many shops and a ton of indoor attractions. While at DHS I stood in pouring rain while waiting for ToT. It was so hot, though, that it felt good. :hilarious:

We spent a day of torrential rains at MK in May - I mean constant rain, walkways ankle-deep in water. From a touring perspective, it was wonderful. The rain cut the crowds in half after an hour or two due to a mass exodus of guests who realized the rain wasn't going away and didn't care to deal with it, but most attractions were still operating (even some that surprised us, like 7DMT, which is largely outdoors). We'd prepared for the weather with ponchos and Tevas (quick-dry hiking sandals) and just kept on touring as if the monsoon wasn't even happening. (I would _not_ have enjoyed it as much had we planned on shopping that day, however. The stores were absolutely jam-packed with sopping-wet, ill-tempered guests trying to get out of the rain, or just looking for ponchos and umbrellas to purchase, and anyone trying to actually _shop_ wouldn't have had room to move).

EPCOT... La Cava, shall I say more?! ;)

But, other than that I think World Showcase is great to hop around. You have some pretty lengthy shows that are great for a rainy day. Bars/Lounges/Restaurants. The Land Pavilion all indoors with Soarin and nothing better than a few spins on Livin with the Land. The Sea's with multiple attractions and aquariums. This would most likely not be the ideal plan with small children though.

As I’m sure most of us have, I have been rained on in every park at WDW (as well as at Disney Springs, at Downtown Disney before it was Disney Springs, and at my hotel). However, for purposes of this question I’m curious in which park do you say to yourself, “If it was going to rain, I’m glad I’m here!” ?? (Water parks included)

For me, it’s HS. I feel like there are a lot of shows I can duck into, or a lot of indoor lines. But, I have to admit I do love running through MK in the summer rain!

I’d say Epcot for reasons stated in prior posts.

Magic Kingdom playing the Sorcerers apprentice card game. The only draw back, getting caught in a white squall just out side the castle and having a football field in each direction of open travel.
