Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I always lift my feet and never have an issue.

    Pokemon at USF discussion/speculation.

I know I'm not the target demographic, but a Pokemon land seems incredibly boring. None of the locales in the show seem incredibly interesting or iconic and the IP is based on collecting animals to have dog fights, not a ton of attraction ideas to play off of there.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

What shadow projection was missing? Before the drop, because DL had that as well. As for the hopping Rabbit, I liked it as a kid, but it also was a bit clunky. I was okay with rabbit on rail car. WDW gave up the 2nd half of HDYD for a random transition into Laughin Place which threw off...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Nah, the WDW version always felt like a discount POTC whereas Disneyland's felt like a Fantasyland Darkride on an E-ticket scale. The slow wide flume doesn't work for me. Nor did the cuts to the scenes or the move to Laughing Place being so early and prior to the second drop. As a kid I liked...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

It just doesn't work for the ride because it's part of the same scene as HDYD essentially. Then the loss of Burrows Lament was another blow. The fallout from the double wide logs is my third strike. Way too slow, less intimate, less iconic looking mountain due to squatiness. WDW's Splash...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Disneyland's Space Mountain a d Splash Mountain were superior to WDW's. WDW's Splash was certainly a longer ride though and I did like the Brer Rabbit design in Florida.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Today I decided to take a siesta and think about how I would approached this project. Queue - Keeping the older more cobwebby version of the barn, I would have a mellow instrumental of "Almost There" playing with sketches and such indicating that this was the property she was trying to buy and...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I now wonder if the HDYD section simply had Tiana, Louis, and Naveen in the three scenes and they realized it was too barren and boring, so they cut Naveen and replaced him with simple animal figures for the first two scenes. Honestly, the search for Louis' trumpet sounds like the best...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I think the staging for both band segments are far better with DLR's, the splash down into the bayou is better at DLR as its not washed out by the sun as it is in Florida. Laughin Place in Florida has the fountains, but otherwise looks the same. The final Odie scene before unload also looks a...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

He tricked Bear Bear into a trap and then tricked both of them into a Bee Hive. That's all in the ride. Plus, when the ride opened, you couldn't exist without seeing these stories presented. I had books by both Disney and non Disney publishers, audio cassettes, the sing a-long VHS tapes, and...

News Tiana's Bayou Adventure - latest details and construction progress

Both signs are ugly and forced. The WDW frog log does look better, but that's about all that looks better at WDW's. I like the WDW frog log, the decor around the Odie door while circling the exterior, and the jumping fountains in the old Laughin' Place. The rest is clearly better in...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I didn't ask if they were recycled, I asked if they felt recycled. And no, they did not. I loved America Sings, but the figures worked perfectly and were re-costumed and placed in places where they worked. And you're saying the Geese distracted you from the leaves and tree stumps located...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

I'm fairly certain that was an earlier concept for the ride, I assume with the spice storyline. Naveen and Tiana were exploring the bayou and Louis would appear from the water. When that storyline was replaced and they decided they wanted a fabric Louis that couldn't be in water, Naveen was...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Did they seem like recycled elements or did they fit Splash Mountain? Did they provide life and energy that mere set dressing of trees and boxes could not achieve? Animated figures singing and giving life to a world is better than empty vistas and lifeless corners.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Speaking objectively: Queue - Improvement. It took what was subdued and vague and gave it more visual interest. Bayou - Wash. Briar patch and all looked great. Bayou looks good. Some will prefer one, but they function similarly and while the mountain has a less iconic look, the journey...

Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

As with Splash, Disneyland's is clearly the better iteration of the attraction. It actually feels like....an adventure...vs the opening of Disneyland's pirates with playhouse Disney characters. Plus little things like how the lift hill in WDW seems to have the lighting effect clipped by the...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

I will say that the magicians Knotts has been getting have been pretty great. Lucy Darling played at the end of November and she is one of my favourites currently working. I know Zabrecky has performed at past events. The problem is they are booked for a 15-minute set for one weekend. So...

News Coco Boat Ride Coming to Disney California Adventure

If only people had that much fun IN the land and the visuals IN the land were worth taking pictures of. But I guess having a land that looks good as a background is some achievement. Reminds me of the Beetlejuice immersive experience. Its a lot of instagram photo ops without a lot to do.
