News "World of Color – One" coming to Disney California Adventure

(sigh) Still no showtimes listed after Feb 25th. I know I shouldn't be worried, but my anxiety isn't getting the message... -Rob

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Fire exit doors lined up with queue lines to allow for direct access is kinda what you want when designing emergency exits... Especially when it's in a large space and you'd need a lot of people all flowing in that direction. -Rob

News Wondrous Journeys firework show coming to Disneyland

For a relative Disneyland newbie, best spot to watch the show on a non-fireworks night? I'm assuming within Main St so you get some of those projections, but how far down Main St is too far? The only night including fireworks we're seeing Fantasmic, so we'll have to just watch from our dining...

News Fantasmic! and World of Color to return in 2022

Relative Disneyland newbie (only my third time ever), will be in the parks March 1-4. Should I be concerned that World of Color is not on the schedule past Feb 25th? And I presume that there's no chance they'll add Fantasmic or fireworks to the schedule on Wednesday or Thursday? (We're flying...

    Old Magic Bands

It's also important to ensure you're using the same account/profiles that you used the first time, the ones those Bands are linked to. -Rob

    HELP! Adding child to reservation

For the most flexibility in the future, especially if the 5yo is getting a MagicBand or you might travel with them again, I'd suggest mom creates an MDE account and then adds 5yo as a managed profile. Then, become friends with mom, and finally friend request the 5yo using "friends of friends"...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

At least Disneyland has been consistently keeping the next 6-ish weeks posted, adding to their calendar one day at a time. (Though being able to make dining reservations 60 days out without knowing park hours for that day seems a little silly) -Rob

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Saw that this morning. And yet they still haven't posted park hours beyond Jan 31. Are they usually this stingy with info? -Rob

Did you see the other bit about the permanent haunt attraction/event in Vegas? Jack and Chance silhouettes clearly in the artwork. -Rob

News Park Hopping Time Change in Early February 2023

What peak-rate time was that? We stayed there for 4 nights December 2021 for $535. Now I'll admit I booked that well in advance before Disneyland had reopened and they were likely desperate for ANY bookings they could get, but when pricing our upcoming trip in early March I could've gotten 4...

In WDW for a (quick) wedding and want to talk to someone about planning an upcoming trip...

The Lobby Concierge desk at the resort can help with a few of those things, but it's usually only for your current trip and only one or two things at a time. Certainly not on the scale you're talking about for an entire future vacation for a large group. I echo the others that a travel agent...

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I read over in the WDW Rise thread that (allegedly) the engineers in Disneyland discovered some kind of programming error in the code for one of the cannons. After the code was fixed it eliminated the issue that was e-stopping the cannons at seemingly random times. Sounds like they implemented...

    Fantasmic Dining Packages

Just chatted with a CM in the app. They said it could be done either way at Blue Bayou (reserve a package or just book a reservation and ask at restaurant), but that specifically booking the package is recommended. At the moment we have a regular reservation for BB, though I'll keep an eye out...

    Morning LL/genie chaos advice needed....

*Possible* to do? Yes. But personally I don't trust Disney IT enough to try it. If I were in that critical of a situation, I'd get one of my travel mates to log into their account on their phones. (I force travel mates to create their own accounts, even if they have no intention of ever logging...

    All things Universal Studios Hollywood

Not having been to USH since the 80's, how insane would we be to try and go on a weekday soon after the official SNW opening? Like in the Feb 27-Mar 2 range? And do we think VIP Tours will be given any kind of improved access? -Rob

Villain Con (Minions) ride to replace Shrek 4-D (rumor)

I hypothesized maybe the gun will be mounted/tethered to a moving handrail, forcing you to stay in one place. Though I'm a bit unsure of the mechanics of the rail going around corners... -Rob

Cinematic Celebration lagoon show is back

If I were to hazard a guess, the water probably topped this hatch and flooded an equipment vault that isn't supposed to see water. They may have assumed the lake would never get that high. Perhaps now they'll either find a way to completely seal that hatch if needed, or build a temporary...

Cinematic Celebration lagoon show is back

The lagoon show is back in the schedule after the show equipment was damaged in the hurricane. Pyro is set and they were testing fountains earlier. (I'll have to watch it another night, I'm over at IOA getting night rides in on Hagrid's and Velocicoaster) -Rob

    Undercover Tourist question

@Weather_Lady pretty much covered what I know of upgrades pretty well. (My direct knowledge/experience with this is at least 4 years old, so things *might* have changed, but I don't recall reading anything different.) Back then the key was to use a discount ticket to get into a park *before*...

Connect with Friends on MyDisney Experience

Yes. Have each of them create an account. Then go into your account, and under each person's profile choose "invite to plan and share" (or whatever it's called now) and fill in their email address. Once they accept the request you'll be connected. They can then either use their phones as their...
