News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The wife and I tried at the same time today, she on wifi and I used data, she got us group 17. We are standing by, with groups called up to 15, but it is down at present...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I believe you are referring to the plastic diveders on the transports in RotR. They may be a test, but I would guess they will remain flexible and not use rigid plexiglass. It was not until I was on the KS truck today that I realized the soft screens are most likely used in case a rider lurches...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

That's all true. The cast person i had referred to was making an announcement to all waiting in line for MMRR so one would hope he was speaking with some kind of authority -- but it still may not have been 100% accurate. In any event, and just to be clear, the expert I was referring to in my...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I am happy to yield to the advice of the expert! I was repeating what I had thought I had read here, and what I am sure I heard a cast member announce to all prior to the 10am launch. He was not, however, a bus driver, so I should have been more skeptical. Our experience this afternoon...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

I would agree. I don't know what the queue wait usually is, once your group is called, but it took us a half hour, or more, to get through to a preshow scene, then it moved pretty well along at the rest of the "stops." Larger groups may well help that. At MF SR there was a group of 12 a bit...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Good points, agreed. I'm not sure, but the second time, when I got a pass, I might have been on wifi. Data bars were high each time, but lag could have been an issue. Our group was called and we had a great first time on the ride. The partitions are soft plastic and we were in front of the car...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Tried at 2 with my wife's iPhone and she was refreshing a lot, so I hit refresh once, got join, hit it, then continue and we were in! Wife hit join just after and it said we were already in the queue. I never saw a confirmation. We got group 72. It's up to 62 now, so fingers crossed it doesn't...

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Cellular data is reco.ended over Disney Wi-Fi, if you have a good cell signal. Multiple people from the same group are NOT recommend to try at the same time because you are competing against youself. But today's experience tells me it is almost a crap shoot, even if you use all the tricks.

News Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Standby Line and Boarding Groups at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Rumor Version of MaxPass coming to WDW in May?

    News Tomorrowland love

But do ALL the lands in all the parks have a focal point or weenie? What, for example, is or was it in Adventureland or Frontierland? What was it in Tomorrowland that is not there any more? All that being said, I do hope the work continues to bring in some more vibrancy and character.

Walt Disney World Park Hours cut starting September 8 2020

I'd LOVE to be able to park hop when I am there in a few weeks, but it has been explained several times why that is a problem right now. Likewise, it has been explained why Disney does not want parks open after dark. (No, it is not because sunlight kills COVID...) So, as Marni, et al, has said...

On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

We all have our own learning styles and entertainment preferences (witness discussions of CoP, CBJ, Tiki room, etc.) but for me personally, I would really prefer narration over captioning. Having to read the text takes away from being able to WATCH the video, and is simply too distracting for...

    Is this legal?

The daycare case (actually, 3 of them) is reported here: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/daycare-center-murals/ Snopes points out that allowing the unlicensed use does endanger their copyright and that "gifting" the rights to use the IP can anger those who pay for such use. As usual, it is a...
