    A New Discovery?

Though not strictly Disney, I wonder if anyone here has been to Discovery Cove. We have booked up for the day + dolphin swim during our upcoming trip. Any thoughts, tips or feelings about this park?

    20 days or less

Next Saturday 14th and we will be in CBR. Having the Disney Dining for the first time and looking foward to returning to the Boma. My dreams of potatoes with afritude, zebra domes and giant lumps of meat will come true once more!

    Incident at Typhoon Lagoon?

 I too was shocked the first time I dipped a toe in the massive wave pool at TL. The problem with spinal injury is that the consequences if it is missed can potentially be catastrophic... which equates to very bad publicity for the mouse (or any other company). It therefore...

Travel times from Carribean beach resort question.

Do not worry. The busses are far better than you may imagine. The lower end of the times are probably realistic. Remember, though that the busses move around the Caribbean Beach Resort in a clockwise direction... so you will either have to wait as the bus drops people off / picks them up on the...

    Dinner Attire Questions

I think the bottom line is that if it is in one of the parks then no one is going to expect you to go back and change. If it is one of the nicer resort restaurants such as California Grill, Artist Point, Jiko etc. then you will need to put on something a little smarter.

    Soaring....

I don't know whether the expression 'taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut' translates over there but essentially the vast majority of anti-sickness medications act by causing blanket inhibition of many mid brain functions. Hence the drowsiness. You rarely need them without prolonged travel or...

Monorail Expansion: Who is in favor, who isn't?

I think complexity is not an issue. Anything the size of WDW will have a complex transportation system whatever you do. In the end I suspect that the monorail expansion will not happen. You will still have to get transport from your hotel to the monorail (unless in one of the hotels already...

    fun stuff at disney

If you run to tinkerbell's store in MK first thing in the morning and ask one of the cast members, you can set the tiny track of twinkling lights off on its daily journey around the store. It is this kind of thing which means that no one will ever develop anything to compare to the intamacy...

Disney's Oversea attractions why can't we get them?

MuRkErY that is all very true. It is just PotC that depresses me in the Magic Kingdom... hopefully with the new additions it will pick it up a bit. However Splash has to be the biggest plus from any point of view. For anyone who has been to France, one can not understate the difference in the...

That was a rather more coherent and considered reply than I managed.

Any News on new Castle Show?

The best thing about a new show is that you can stand there and look up at the castle minus the HCOE decorations, mmmmm.

Disney's Oversea attractions why can't we get them?

I agree that the monorail is absent in France. I view the Monorail as really more of an added attractoin - simply because the compact lay out of DLRP negates the need for any type of mass transit system of this nature. Clearly negotiation of the Seven Seas Lagoon is a necessity for car drivers...

Disney's Oversea attractions why can't we get them?

OLC has at least some dialogue with WDI with regard to broad content, such as the need for interactivity in shows (Mythica being an example). Much of this is cultural necessity rather than creative direction. That said almost every drop of imagination is flown straight over from Glendale.

Disney's Oversea attractions why can't we get them?

I would start by saying that there are ONLY two reasons why the WDW parks are superior to Paris (the Walt Disney Studios excepted of course). Firstly because of the warm, friendly, helpful American staff and guests and secondly the simple weight of attractions and diversity. The imagineering of...

    fun stuff at disney

If you pull on Indy's Rope you get a rude response. Perhaps unsurprisingly. There is a dig / well in the queue line for the Indianna Jones Epice Stunt Spectacular and if you pull it someone replies from down the bottom of the shaft. All the nails in the queue line for Expedition Everest came...

    fun stuff at disney

I would imagine that a more specific question might elicit more useful replies. Most stuff in Disney is fun to a lesser or greater degree. I would recommend starting with the theme parks. These contain the most obvious and upscale examples of fun that is to be had on property...

    Mickey's Philarmagic

IMHO: Philharmagic:New. Beautiful film. Attractive theatre. Poor queue-line / preshow. HISTA:Elderly and film quality is beginning to show. Fantastic absorbing storyline. There is a point to the 3D - it is not just here is a movie that is in 3D - It tells a story, in a theatre, that could...

Mr Potato Head in Midway Mania

There have been many threads on Midway Mania. It is meant to be an upcoming addition to Paradise Pier ay DCA - and possibly to subsequently fill the now vacated Millionaire slot at DMGMS. It may be a back-to-back ride incorporating 3D + motion technology similar to Spiderman at UIOA but with an...

Mr Potato Head in Midway Mania

I remember reading a little while ago that Mr Potato head was rumoured to play the same greeting role in Midway Mania that Buzz currently fulfils in his Space Ranger Spin. (I forget where I saw this now - apologies). It occurred to me that, since this is going to incorporate 3D technology -...

Keep Space Mountain the way it is?

I visited Walt Disney World for the first time last year. Of any ride in all of Orlando, I was most disappointed by Space Mountain. That is not to say that it was, by any means, my least liked attraction - however my first introduction to Space Mountain was in Paris. The audio, effects and...
