Sorry if this is a covered topic. We're leaving for WDW tommorow and are staying at CBR. I've heard that traveing to the parks and other parts of Disney can take an hour or more on the bus which is the only option from that resort. Just wondering how much truth there is to this? I hate to think we'll be wastiing over 2 hours a day just riding the bus when we could be at the parks or resort. If the bus is really that slow would it make more sense to bus over to epcot and take the monorail over to magic kingdom? that seems like it may be a little faster and more fun (or am I wrong). thanks!

An hour seems a bit of an exaggeration. The bus will stop at each of the villages at CBR, and then travel to the parks. But given the close proximity of CBR and Epcot and the Studios, there is no way it would take an hour to get there. MK and AK are a bit farther, but I would still say no more than 30 -35 minutes all told.

According to my 2002 version of The Unofficial Guide to WDW the bus times are:
CBR to MK :13-40 min.
CBR to Epcot : 12-45 min.
CBR to Studios: 6-33 min.
CBR to AK: 15-46 min.
CBR to Typhoon Lagoon: 7-39 min.
CBR to DD: 9-43 min.
CBR to BB: 23-54 min.

Based on my trip 2 years ago, the shorter times are more realistic. With the exception of probably DD and TL. Those both took longer, but not even close to an hour. Twenty minutes or so ?

Do not worry. The busses are far better than you may imagine. The lower end of the times are probably realistic. Remember, though that the busses move around the Caribbean Beach Resort in a clockwise direction... so you will either have to wait as the bus drops people off / picks them up on the way out or the way back.
