New Roundup Rodeo BBQ sit-down restaurant coming to TSL

I might agree with breakfast (although H&V is plenty good), but if you haven't had lunch/dinner at Mama Melrose's (and like Italian), you are really missing out. In fact, one of my favorite "snacks" in all of WDW is the Blue/Green milk (yes, both) at GE.

News More Character Dining to Return at Walt Disney World

Garden Grill and 1900 Park Fare are 2 of my all-time favorite breakfasts--character or not. Wish these would return soon (don't like the lunch/dinner menu at Garden Grill).

Disney Food Is Expensive and Worse Than Ever

To steal a line from a movie: that's not necessarily true. From a conversation I had (last year) with the restaurant manager at Be Our Guest, there are only (2) places in WDW with Prime (specially sourced) beef: Be Our Guest and Yachtsman Steakhouse. The conversation resulted from my complement...

Disney Food Is Expensive and Worse Than Ever

You lost me already. Forgetting about the hassle (and lost time) of going off-site, there are plenty of places in WDW that meet (or exceed) Outback quality. Yes, prices are high, but you can find quality food in the parks. For example, our last couple of meals at Cinderella's Royal Table and Be...

Rumor Spaceship Earth Redo Shelved Indefinitely

A selfish part of me wishes this refurb had been done during COVID...because it inevitably will happen after we have moved to Orlando (and I think it will be a long refurb).

News Tropical Storm Nicole impacts to Walt Disney World - November 2022

Agreed. I thought they handled the shutdown/re-open very well when we where there for hurricane Ian; they opened early for "on site" guests and we ended up with nearly a full day. Of course, I'm sure they would much rather not have to make these decisions at all.

News Tropical Storm Nicole impacts to Walt Disney World - November 2022

Disney was very good about extending/crediting our tickets during hurricane Ian last month. Those were unused tickets/days.

Andor (Rogue One prequel) Series on D+

Can't wait! Andor is fast becoming my favorite Star Wars related series--right up there with The Mandalorian.

News New Play Pavilion to replace Epcot's Wonders of Life

If true, that would have been done instead of creating Steakhouse71. By the way, we really enjoyed our breakfast there last month; the (old) construction pics bring back (good) memories.

    Open Air full-service restaurants

In that case, there are several around World Showcase...but someone has already given a more detailed answer.

    Open Air full-service restaurants

Full (table) service restaurants? Can't think of any off the top of my head. Counter service: I can think of at least 1 in every park. There's a couple of 'lounge/drink' locations that are open air, but I don't think that's what you're asking.

How does Space 220 work these days?

I think the "party of 1" thing is the key; I did something similar at Ohana once (and we all know that was a tough ticket). We were unable to secure ADR's for Space 220 during our visit last week (both 60 days out/week of/including lounge). In fact, I think you can safely put it up there with...

Hurricane Ian expected to impact Florida (updates and related discussions)

I thought I would share a first-hand account of the parks after last week's hurricane. We arrived in Disney the day before the shutdown and returned Sunday; we spent the "lock-down" in Coronado Springs (the tower) and saw 2 parks (including EPCOT's 40th). Even on Friday, you would have had a...

News More EV charging stations are coming to Disney Springs - September 2022

Since we are moving to Orlando soon and I own an EV...I am starting to follow the charging installs on WDW property. I don't expect it to be "free", and I don't like "idle" charging...but it's problematic to exit/enter the park(s) just to move your vehicle. I suppose if I lived there and only...

News Disney KiteTails coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom October 1

Oh yeah: I've seen WoC "drained" and it's incredibly complex. I suspect they only made the water deep enough to hide the nozzles...because you couldn't build/maintain that network in anything like the current RoL pond. Doesn't mean they can't "start over" though (WoC is very cool).

    Trail End Buffet

I assume you mean it's "family style" and not "buffet"...which we prefer as well. Trail's End is a great (reasonable cost) alternative to park/hotel dining options and we are waiting for the buffet format to return before going back.

    Need help w/ 1st deluxe experience - 1st on-site visit in a long time

I'm not sure a 3 year old will remember anything from the trip; we didn't take our kids until they were 8+. Having said that, you can't beat a stay on the monorail (since you can afford it). Our family trips to the Contemporary/Poly had a huge (positive) impact on me (when I was about 10 years old).

New Roundup Rodeo BBQ sit-down restaurant coming to TSL

You got that right! I love breakfast as well, and the "best" breakfasts seem to (unfortunately) also be character meals. I still can't figure out why 1900 Park Fare (GF) hasn't re-opened yet.

New Roundup Rodeo BBQ sit-down restaurant coming to TSL

That's not a bad idea...especially considering there's still a lack of breakfast options (like sit-down) around WDW.
