Most critics are full of themselves and take their reviews too seriously. They act like they are writing for a Pulitzer. I think they forget the object of going to a movie is to enjoy yourself and escape from the every day.

This happened with me for 50's Prime Time. Tried for two months for a 4 person reservation and nothing at anytime for dinner. Tried again two days before the trip and something opened for a 5:20pm seating. NEVER GIVE UP! NEVER SURRENDER!

We stayed in a refurbished room in December and they still had the old style top load washers.

It can take longer on the bus and we usually always take our vehicle to AK and the water parks. Other than that we take Disney transport. It would also depend on where you stay and your other transportation options.

It tends to be busier on the weekends during this time because of all the locals that enjoy the F&W Festival. We went last year and it is definitely worth it.

We have visited WDW without buying tickets several times. Living only 3 hours away though we have the luxury to do that since we visit so many times during the year. There is so much to do on property outside of the parks.

We have no kids and have had an annual pass this year. We went in July, October, November, December, February, May and again next month. We made it a mission to ride on EVERY ride during the year including the 'kiddie' rides. We are about 3 rides per park away from our goal. Just have fun!

My choice would most definitely be The Polynesian. I have stayed there eight times over the years and it is by far my favorite of all Disney resorts.
