What's surprising to me is that there is a expectation they would stay on. I imagined that they had special skills to be stunt drivers and were paid accordingly, and when the show ended they would go their way. What type of positions would they have transferred to that would use the same skills...

Wow - hard to explain... I like that it goes quickly from scene to scene. Each scene has a focus, that in the case of Snow White it scares. I feel it, then move on. P.S. We tired of the original Mexico ride rather quickly. We were really pleasantly surprised by how much more fun it became with the addition of the 3 Caballeros! So now we ride it a couple of times every year. I'm hoping the new "Maelstrom" is similarly fun.

To show how people are different, we went to American Idol (and Millionaire and Frozen Sing Along) all the time, whereas LMA was once and done. Fantasmic is a must see! :)

I didn't hate it. But no way would I call it amazing. I think it ran its course, and I'm looking forward to riding its replacement.

Its hard to know if it's bloated, or just making sure everything is high quality. I don't know how to compare rumors of project costs at both universal studios and Disney. I can compare the as built results, and am looking forward to doing so! :)

We are in a similar position. We do go every year for an extended period (plus day trips to DL), but to miss it by "that much" is a little sad. Last year it was PoTC - it opened on the day we left. :( But we'll be on Pirates this year!!

You are right - Gotham could work. But do you think Disney would want such a "dark" place?
