    Pandora at night

It's worth seeing once, although in my experiences it tends to become so crowded it kills most of the charm/ambiance.

    Has EPCOT failed?

Interesting; I know basically nothing about the Tokyo Disney so thank you for the insight. I'm curious how much of that can be chalked up to Japanese corporate/business culture.

    Has EPCOT failed?

Bingo. They seemed to believe the corporate sponsorship model would last forever.

Rumor Muppets to Take Over The Hall of Presidents

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but at the same time you can argue that HOP is a Cold War-era piece of performance patriotism that has outlived itself. If they were to change the attraction, I'd much rather see a humorous (yet informative) look at the three branches in general as opposed...

Rumor Muppets to Take Over The Hall of Presidents

Presidential Encounter The administration that never was is here! Guests enter the Convention Center for a demonstration of new Presidential cloning technology from an alien corporation called XS-Tech. Company reps have come from their planet to market this new "product" and are anxious to...

The Post-Covid Crowd Rush... Is WDW Ready?

No matter what else happens, I know the DVC sales kiosks will be fully-staffed.

Changes in the last 2 years that burn your britches

Not unique to the past two years, but I'd tack on the continued stagnation of the Imagination pavilion in general. You have perhaps the most fertile theme for Imagineering to run wild with, and the home of what is (arguably) Epcot's mascot. What we get, however, is a cringe-inducing ride and a...

    Grand Fiesta Tour Show Quality

This is going back maybe twenty years, but San Angel used to have lobster enchiladas on the menu that were outstanding. When we were last there 3 years ago it was serviceable food, at best. Not bad but certainly not worth what we paid.

    Soul at Epcot

As a side note, if Disney is hellbent on inserting IPs on property, I would much rather see some of the classics get love before the newer stuff (nothing against the newer stuff). A Sword in the Stone ride. A coaster based on the 101 Dalmatians car chase scene (ok; maybe that's a bit dark).

Why do you think people still go to WDW?

This is a great analogy. The time to be concerned is when the fan base doesn't care one way or the other any longer.

Haunted Mansion vs Pirates of the Caribbean

If people are relying on WDW for their history we have bigger problems. Regardless, the claim that changing something like Red or tearing down CSA statues "erases" history is a reductive argument rooted in personal politics. I find it very hard to believe that people wanted the old auction...

    Soul at Epcot

Absolutely. Diverse methods of presentation and interaction is totally welcome. Not everything needs to be a ride. Had mom and dad let me, I would have spent hours in Communicore back in the day. Looking back, maybe they did leave me while they went to eat at Alfredo's.

    Soul at Epcot

As someone who identifies as dead inside, I'd appreciate TWDC not appropriating our culture more than they already have.

News The Electrical Water Pageant to resume performances at Walt Disney World

I've personally never cared much for the parades/shows...but don't mess with my EWP or Dapper Dans.

    Under-Appreciated Attractions

Monsters Laugh Floor. Some of those voice actors have insanely sharp wit and I've never not laughed while in there.

    Magic Kingdom Hypotheticals Being Discussed

Oh shoot; that's how this works? In that case, I'm a Disney insider and I heard that the Odyssey will be gutted and rethemed to a Hercules screen-projection simulator by 2022.

    BEST (not favorite) Domestic Park?

I'd toss in an honorable mention for Typhoon Lagoon in a side category. Great theming, so much greenery, the wave pool and slides, lazy river, etc. Water parks often get overlooked (and can trend towards glorified pools) but Typhoon does it right.

    Wait times

I doubt the data exists anywhere for obvious reasons, but I would love to examine wait times from the 80s and 90s (and yes, I get it, totally different eras).

Reflections on my time away from WDW

I cancelled our APs when given the chance earlier this year, and it wasn't a hard decision. Over the past few years I increasingly felt like WDW just wasnt worth the price. I lied to myself a few times and renewed. The last straw was last December before the shutdown. I found myself staring at...

Haunted Mansion vs Pirates of the Caribbean

Mansion edges out Pirates in a photo finish. Mansion's ability to make you suspend disbelief and imagine you are actually exploring the home blows away Pirates. After the initial stormy cove/drop on Pirates, it's impossible to fool yourself that you're not in a big show building.
