What’s the fait of the Biergarten?

Were those performers part of the program to and will they be back again. I love that show and the restaurant. Loosing that would be another Disney breaking point for me.

We don't know their fait accompli.

If the performers are of the Equity Union, WDW now has a deal for them to come back.

If they are international performers currently in Germany... they won't be back for a while. Tho, I'm sure there are plenty of U.S. residents who could perform German polkas.

The other problem with BierGarten is that it was buffet meals, which are now right out. They'd have to serve dishes like a traditional sit-down, or, have staff fill your plates at the buffet.

The upside is that they won't sit you with strangers!

I thought the Biergarten was open and just served AYCTE style at your table. I’m sure I’ve seen trip reports about it.

It's our favorite place to eat. We walk very slowly around the park after eating way too much. The apple strudel is addicting and so good.

Thats the problem for us. We just dont like buffet type service.

We dont like the idea of people, whose hands have been God knows where, grabbing utensils that you have to grab next. Even before COVID. Just yuck.

We also dont like the value, or lack thereof, with buffets. They are so expensive that there is a tendency to overindulge in order to feel like you didn't throw money away.

We went to Biergarten once, years ago. It was fun. We enjoyed it. But as a buffet, we won't be back.

I agree with you. All buffets are gross.

Go to the deluxe resort casino buffets in Vegas. You will see a different viewpoint.

Been to as few. The quality is much better but as long as you have long lines of people just breathing over the food and serving themselves using the same utensils it is still gross. Now, some of the Vegas buffets have people serving you and that's much better.

Jager Schnitzel, spaetzle, and potato salad. Let Hofbrauhaus run the concession. Or give it to the Swiss - we'd get Rosti. I could do with a Zeughauskeller type of place as well. How about both - 1 in EPCOT and the other in the MK (replacing Village Haus in Fantasyland)

The performers are not equity, just CMs and im sure I’ve seen that they are back already. The buffet has switched to all you care to enjoy family style brought to the table. I’ve seen a couple trip reports online if you google, but the restaurant is definitely open!
That’s what I though, Off Kilter were CM’s to and still together touring the US, defiantly not equity. Speaking of off kilter they won’t be near me anytime soon 🥺

There’s a couple that were still around. Jason shows up time to time at Christmas in Holiday Voyageurs and Randy became a sound tech at Epcot

The best solution I have seen for buffets is what was done at a wedding reception I attended recently. Rather than each DISH / ITEM having a serving piece, each INDIVIDUAL GUEST was handed a plastic serving piece and a plate by the caterer. At the end of the buffet line the serving piece was discarded so nobody was touching serving pieces that had been handled by someone else. Also, everyone wore masks as they went through the line to avoid breathing on the food.
