What if the only reason why it was stopping was because people were leaving the theater mid-show?
I don't believe it was the case in that instance given that it showed unavailable on the app. But even so, communicating is the thing they needed to do.

I probably shouldn't have quoted you, I was talking generally, I'm sure that it is possible for someone in each theater to decide they were bored, had to go to the bathroom or had an LL to get to and they didn't realize that show was so long. With that many theaters there is bound to be someone leaving for what they considered a good reason. I don't think the majority of the riders on any given day either know or don't care about what it is doing to others.

Definitely yes, the ride is very dangerous with all the spinning going on. I think there should probably be a Rock'N Roller Coaster restraint system put in just to be safe

You are probably right, sadly. The world is sadly no longer idiot-proof. and never really was, only now its far more obvious.

How? As I said you will be held in a holding room. They stop you and grab you before you get out. The doors are kept shut so you cannot walk out.
Stopping people from exiting a building is the sort of thing that is generally frowned upon. But also, these vestibules would have to replace seating in the theaters. And what happens if someone keeps walking? Station deputies there to trespass people?

Add a penalty. If you get up to leave mid show you must be held in a holding room until the show is over. Leaving the theater does not get you out so you can do something else in the park. You are not released until all the theater guests are let out.

People who try to leave are sent to...the Rumpus Room.

Careful down there. Fuses tend to blow and we might not fix them immediately...

This has been tried before with similar ride systems to CoP, and failed.

All it takes is a few people lifting up on the restraints together, and they're able to release the entire aisle of seats, allowing riders to exit the attraction and go off to observe the raptor hatchings.

It isn't jail. 😂

Never said it was a jail.... it's a holding room. There no fine, you don't need to call a lawyer and post bail, and there's no judge to go before. :D:D:D

No... there are CM's monitoring the exits and they see who leaves mid-show and they direct people to... again.... a holding room.
Be serious now... It's kidding around. No one is actually going to stop anyone from leaving, no one is building a vestibule and no one is going to be stopped by a deputy or trespass anyone. Geesh....

That’s not allowed in an Assembly occupancy…
Not in the US I take it. Shame. Back to the tasers I suppose.
Florida fire code follows NFPA 101 not the IBC, which allows magnetic locks in assembly use groups under specific conditions.

Likely Disney requested a variance from the AHJ because while the theater is in motion, the use of an emergency exit would be a safety concern and would necessitate the doors to be locked.

It would be my guess that the Show would stop on a fire alarm and the doors would unlock on a fire alarm and when the theater is not in motion. This would allow occupants safe egress during an emergency and when the theater is not in motion.

Strap me in!

I will gladly rotate around for an hour or more watching ‘Carousel of Progress’.

Who here will be sitting next to me…?
I will be sure to smuggle in some snacks.

😎

You had me even before you mentioned snacks!

Some genuinely great attractions have been build in recent years, phenomenal tech, wild ideas. But in my heart, I'm just old school WDW, classic Disney.
