Transformative Multi-Year Expansion Announced for WDS Paris

With Frozen only having one ride, and nothing in between it and the flat ride, if it closes for refurbishment between now and the opening of Lion King will they just block off the path around the lake? Will guests be willing to walk over to a land if the only things open are the cafeteria and meet and greet?
If Frozen Ever After closes, guest can still enjoy:

-Cars Road Trip
-Meet and greet with Anna and Elsa
-Meet and greet with Mickey
-The Frozen restaurant
-2 Frozen shops
-La terrasse panoramique
-Le show Frozen
-Meet Olaf, the troll and Oaken
-And taking a lot of beautiful pictures, which in the social media era might be the msot important thing

So i think guest will make the tour around the lake anyway

I dont know what to make of it. It's pretty in areas, but there is absolutely no substance to it. The decision to do Frozen Ever After is just flawed to me. The park is desperate for big hit attraction, and this isn't it.
’Frozen trying to make a C pass for a D more desperately than a high school girl on her prom night’ is insufficient for a complete park redo. The comparison with DCA's complete makeover is dismal, they rebranded that park with RSR, Mermaid, TSMM...

However, WDSP's issues were lack of beauty, charm, placemaking, sense of being a Disney park. Not the ride line-up, which was fairly decent and didn't need much adressing.

The makeover is underwhelming, but nevertheless sensible.

It just needed either Rise/GE, or the Lion King to open with it. Frozen can't carry it, neither capacity wise nor for ride substance. Only by name of the IP. One wonders if Disney doesn't risk setting guests up for dissapointment, tainting the parks’ image for years again.

I just watched the new DAW POV videos with a close friend who’s been going to DLP since the 90s and has visited WDW twice. She cares far more about atmosphere and shows than thrill rides - in particular at Disneyland Park, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT - and she hasn’t followed any of the expansion details during the construction.

Her first unfiltered reaction was: “Frozen looks cute. But the rest? It’s just very long walkways with some lights and kiosks.” I had to switch to a DAK POV video afterwards where she said "Look, that's what makes Disney special."

Yes, POV videos aren’t the same as being there. And maybe the nighttime show will hopefully bring some more excitement about the expansion. But here’s the reality: when people spend serious money on a Disney trip, they do not pay to see the groundwork for a great park 10 years from now.

Is the park better than before? Absolutely. But with the rebranding and the level of Marketing hype, expectations were raised to a premium Disney standard. What’s been shown so far simply doesn’t quite hit that bar.

Then the problem is the marketing. Not this sensible first step.

I think for what’s there they’ve done a good job by the looks of it…there’s just not a lot there.

I want to join the astonishment that a simple wave swinger is taking a year plus to install. I could maybe understand if they’d have made an effort and included a beautiful fountain package like the one in Phantasialand, but crikey.

Cascade of Lights. Not the best angle and a windy evening but one of the first videos.

Quite impressive - especially from a technical point of view. Between this and the Six Nations I’m ready for bed.

100% they need to bring the drones over to Animal Kingdom. Would be perfect for a night time show there on the river.

Overall the whole expansion looks great and was desperately needed, but really needs Lion King open sooner than later.

Cloning Frozen Ever After never made any sense. It's a mediocre attraction that was hamstrung by being retrofitted into/designed around Maelstrom's layout. That's not the ride they would have built for Frozen without those constraints, so why double down on it?

They quadrupled down as far as I’m concerned. Frozen Journey was truly white paper and yet they swung back around to the same platform and constraints. It’s longer but really not functionally a revolution.

So is it confirmed that Avengers flight force is coming to Paris as well?
Im confused that they never officially announced it but has it in their promotional marketing.

Avengers Flight Force is the new theme for Rock 'N Roller Coaster. It opened in 2022

Avengers Infinity Defense is the E-ticket under construction in California right now.

It is not coming to DAW. Or if it is, has not been officially announced to be.

Pretty good amount of pyro for DLP standards, sad they couldnt budget the drones for 2 parks though espically how little pyro tales of magic has for such a long show.
