Tiana's Bayou Adventure Effects Status Watch

Remember when you were a kid and your mom or dad said “See, you should’ve left things well enough alone?”
I’m gonna let the millennials and Gen Z’ers in on a little secret…MOST times, parents know MORE than the kids…there were sooooo many AA’s on Splash, if one or two weren’t working (or in B mode), it wasn’t as painfully obvious as it is now…
Yes. If one or two out of a dozen AAs are wonky or not working, it doesn’t stand out. If the one showcase AA for an entire scene is out, it is much more glaring.

It’s because it was designed to work in DLR’s Splash mountain. Today’s Disney imagineering does not know how to build attractions for Florida.

This is apparent for Tiana in WDW and will probably also be proven in cars land in the MK in 3 to 5 years when it opens for previews 😉
Just curious, what are the differences? What makes the ride work at DL vs WDW?

The place making in Disneylands is definitely better and the animatronic maintenance is much better. I have heard some speculation about peoplr also thinking it’s a humidity issue in the animatronics themselves but I have not heard any proof or reason to believe that other than the maintenance differences between the two

How often are the maintenance walkthroughs in DL? I dont know for sure but it doesnt seem like WDWs are as often as they should be.

Just my opinion -

The environments DLR VS. MK are different. Spla... Er, I mean, Tiana is very different in heat, humidity etc., DLR VS. MK.

Is also common, things that are tested in lab/cleanroom conditions often fail when they are installed in real life environments.

Another thing I think is that the old hardware made up of pneumatics and/or hydraulics like is used in heavy equipment, could stand up to any environment.

The pacing and story works much better at Disneyland but I will say the 1 time I rode it out there one the Louis figures was missing the top of his mouth exposing the AA internals. So the AA’s have some issues out there too sadly.
Disappointing, this could be one of my favorite rides OAT but these maintenance issues are really putting a pin in that

If there was true interest, how easy is it to remove a specific AA for refurbishment? If possible, they could methodically go thru and address whatever the heck issues are plaguing the overall system. Assuming 'humidity' isn't the only reason the ride is in such poor shape

They did this on Journey into Imagination with Figment a few months back with the 2nd/1.0 finale Figment animatronic by replacing him with another Figment animatronic from storage for a time. I'm not sure if they could do the same for Tiana since those animatronics are A1000 models and are much larger than the Figment animatronics,. It would probably be easier to close the entire ride for refurbishment to sort out its issues but I don't think we will get that until Big Thunder reopens at the very least.

Saw this video earlier this week where nearly every Tiana figure was broken:
- Lift hill Tiana’s mouth isn’t moving
- Zydeco band Tiana is only moving her mouth
- Log Tiana is only moving her mouth/head
- Finale Tiana and Louis are only moving their heads
- Finale Mama Odie is nightmare fuel, weird issue with her arm

Off the same POV -
Firefly screen is burnt out at the former farm rabbits scene.

The large bottle before the big lift hill has half the screen burnt out.

Mama Odie screen before the lift is broken again. Seems like they turned off the lights around it too.

"Magic" lights and fog on the big lift aren't working.
