EPCOT Test Track to be reimagined

I like all three versions (I haven't actually been on the third version yet, though - I've just seen videos), but I think I might have to give the edge to the first one out of nostalgia.

Ugly? Maybe. But it still fit the theme. TT 1.0 was a classic. I’ve enjoyed both updates but neither beats the original for me. Let’s be honest, the track was customized for 1.0 and everything else struggles to use those portions as effectively.

No one watching only on YouTube is having the same experience. It’s no different than any other attraction. You can certainly have an opinion, but you’re missing a key aspect.

I agree with Aiden. I never rode OG Test Track but my mother did. She (GP) didn't love it, aside from the fast bit. We both rode 2.0 and agreed it felt like a cheap attempt at a Tron ride. Though we haven't been on 3.0 from the videos I've seen it looks perfect for the modern era of the park. And yes, crash test dummies and 90s industrialism would be out of place in modern World Discovery.
At least on behalf of the younger generation, I can tell you that the ride objectively would be less popular in the 1.0 form these days. Sure, people would still ride it for the "wee fast car" but the current bulk of the ride is simply a better fit for the non-nostalgia blinded youth of today

Again, no. "I never rode it" but I have an opinion on 1.0's popularity.

Ask yourself why Test Track 1.0 was built and how it fit into EPCOT.

I really liked TT 2.0…aka ‘Tron Track’.

Designing your own vehicle that followed you through the entire Pavilion experience ( including post show areas ) was a neat novelty.
I also loved the musical score for the entire Pavillion.
Still listen to the audio loop from time to time here at home when working…

Test Track 2.0 was a good upgrade from the original version for me, with the added plus of having some futuristic vibes harkening back to EPCOT Center’s spirit.

I do enjoy the current version as well, but admit I miss the vehicle design element.
That finale before you begin the speed test around the outside track is great.
So glad I went in spoiler free…had a nice impact that first time, as intended.

Was never a fan of the original version.
Awful, noisy, cluttered mess as far as presentation and the ride experience I found incredibly mediocre with the exception of a couple of moments.
I used to call it ‘Test Crap’ back when it was operating…..and I had no love for it.
The second version however turned me into a fan, and it became a must do every visit.
Ditto now for 3.0.

I really liked the attraction that came before Test Track

World of Motion was easily the best attraction if we're counting everything in that space (there's no comparison between it any of the 3 Test Tracks), but that's a separate discussion.

Of the three TT iterations, 1.0 probably fit EPCOT the worst as a general concept. On the other hand, it had the best overall execution of its theme, which isn't surprising since 2.0 and 3.0 were just rethemes of the layout designed for 1.0. I think 1 was the best attraction in a vacuum with 3 as the runner up.

So you’ve actually been on one out of the three versions but you speak “on behalf of the younger generation” and what they believe is the best??? 😂

Again, totally ok for us all to have different opinions, but please don’t base them entirely on hearsay or online videos.
