Dinosaur has seen better days

16:53 for DINOSAUR from yesterday. Looks like the Styracosaurus in the beginning is back to not moving, but everything else still looks good, especially the long necked dino by the Carno. Haven't seen that move in POVs in a while.

Said my goodbyes to this (and RNRC) this weekend, was definitely tough. I love the bones (ha) of this ride, from the preshow to overall aesthetic of queue/ride/story. Will be sad that there isn't a corner of the parks for this to live anymore, even if Indiana Jones ends up being spectacular.

I can only hope in the future that dinosaurs are resurrected in the parks in some way... as Dr. Marsh says, "the future is truly in the past!"

Currently, unless something changed from just yesterday, the whole ride is still operating at 98% almost like in the video up there. The only major issue is that the Alioramus is lit up too early so if you look towards it instead of keeping your eyes on the Styracosaurus, you see it dead still. But it has its full range of movements when you look at it when you're "supposed" to. Sauropod is active, all three moving Carnotaurus are moving at their full range (including the third one!!), the other animatronics have no issues. . .

Overall, great couple of last rides. I'm going to miss it so much... Glad so many people are documenting it and Dinoland in their final days.

DinoLand was fun to me, and I completely got the “kitcschiness” of it, and all.
It reminded me of roadtrips we took in summers from California to Texas and back between ‘68 and ‘76, before we finally moved back to Texas 50 years ago.
No A/C, and we sweated like dogs, but it was all fun…!!!!!

The more I see people on here talk the more I'm convinced that where you're from and your personal experience shapes your view on Dinoland. Like, a lot. Significantly more than normal.

I would go so far as to say that's why some people dig their heels in so deeply to the idea that everyone must agree with them on it.

Final carno is looking a lot better, but his mouth still isn't moving, at least not nearly as much as it's supposed to.
Sister did her last ride today (and her last WDW visit before she leaves Florida), and she said it looked like its moving a little better, but still not great. A minor issue when the ride is at 98%, as mentioned above.

It really is sad that these days we are being conditioned to accept the idea that closing attractions will end up closing with a dismal state of repair.

We're supposed to accept a worse experience for the sake of Disney saving money a lot. If you didn't know any better you would swear we were neighbors trying to come to a compromise about hedges on the property line rather than customers to a company.

Its been awhile since my last post on here. Managed to get a short trip in last week to say goodbye to one of my favorite attractions. I look forward to Indiana Jones and what new life will be injected into this ride, but like GMR, Countdown To Extinction will forever hold a place in my heart.
