Universal Orlando Resort is revving up for its next big thrill with Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift – a high-octane outdoor roller coaster that will join the Universal Studios Florida family in 2027.

Replacing the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will put guests in the driver seat of the high-speed thrills of Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious universe like never before. Riders will experience the exhilarating sensation of 360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping maneuvers – including a 170-foot vertical “spike” that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will join an award-winning collection of coaster experiences at Universal Orlando Resort and is another exciting example of the incredible growth, momentum and world-class innovation of Universal Destinations & Experiences. Universal Studios Hollywood will also debut its own, one-of-a-kind Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift outdoor roller coaster later this year.

As Universal Studios Florida makes way for this exciting new experience, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will permanently close in 2027.

More information about Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be shared in the months ahead. For more information about Universal Orlando Resort and to sign-up for email updates about the new high-speed coaster, guests can visit www.UniversalOrlando.com.

I think it should have been called Orlando Drift but other than that I think this is a good move. The drifting coaster design looks awesome.

I already see a lot of complaints that it isn't a more beloved franchise, but this is a minimally themed roller coaster with an IP that makes sense for that type of ride. Save the classics for a more elaborately themed experience!

That or New York Drift if its entrance is in New York. One of the issues with Rip Ride Rockit was it was called Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit but not in the Hollywood section of the park. If the entrance for Hollywood Drift is other side of Minion Land, it can work enough

It's a win-win in my book. You get a coaster based on a franchise that Universal owns which will live up to its name. It'll be fast and furious.
It replaces a coaster that, IMO, was one of the most unappealing coasters from an aesthetics point of view (It was just an ugly coaster). It allows them to close the worst attraction in USO and hopefully replace with a former IP that the fans are clamoring for.

Like most, I've been thinking the station and queue would go out back in the NY section. And I still think it's more likely than not that happens. BUT, is there a chance they'd build the station out front near City Walk with the big spike beside it? Would help justify the name choice. And then they use the NY backlot area for a show building?

USF doesn't have great land definitions, but one of its challenges is having the mini Hollywood Bowl between Minions and NY/Jimmy Fallon. It wasn't unreasonable to have Rip Ride Rocket have Hollywood in the name with the bowl right at the entrance. The new ride could make use and drift over the bowl to make it make sense.

Either way, the ride looks sick and I'm pumped its coming and Supercharged is getting removed

The New York section of the park is a Hollywood studio backlot set designed to look like New York. Supposedly, the theme of this coaster is about the production of a new F$F film called F$F: HD.

And about the spike. Hagrid's spike is 65'. This one is 170'. And I put money on heading up the spike forward and as the train approaches the apex the cars turn to face downward. That means the floaty weightless moment will be sideways. Haha, cool!

whats gonna happen to supercharged?
There has been rumors of 2 or 3 different IPS been mentioned as potential replacements where Fast & furious: Supercharged is currently. The IPs thrown in have been Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, or Harry Potter.

All I know is Universal wants to do a quick change ever according to rumors.

Quick change makes me guess it’ll be the Knight Bus. Easy to retheme it since the ride vehicle is a bus and it’s right next to Diagon Alley so it’ll be easy to merge it into the land
