Disney's Streaming Services: Disney+ (and Hulu, ESPN+, Star, & hotstar)

On some level, we all need to be able to communicate together. True communication involves a back and forth where each party really attempts to hear and understand what the other side is trying to express. If everyone just chooses to "listen" to respond and impose their own beliefs on others, we are just destined to become further and further divided.
If anyone would like to actually discuss this, even if we disagree, hmu.

It seems canceling D+ and Hulu have quite a bit of steam. I suppose the profitability of the streaming service could potentially reverse trend.
Where the Chevron case was overturned last year, I certainly think Disney could have at least pushed back a bit if they chose. I'm not surprised at this point.
I don't think it'll have as big an impact any many think, subs come and go. It'll be a minor blip in the larger scheme of things.

I agree, in the last half decade Disney seems to have been boycotted by nearly everyone but I think it always come back to the bell curve, the couple percent on the ends make a lot of noise and are always at risk of cancelling but the vast majority fall in the middle and this won’t affect them.

After incidents like this, I go to Google Trends to see what people are searching for. Obviously there’s been a recent uptick in searches for “cancel Disney plus” and “cancel Hulu.” But I don’t believe it will meaningfully affect the company’s financial performance by any stretch of the imagination. It’s a small number of searches, relatively speaking.

Also, I believe if they want the subscribers back they should announce that Jimmy Kimmel Live will be returning exclusively to Disney+ and Hulu, at least initially. It will make subscribers undo their cancellation in order to support Kimmel and it will send a message to affiliates not to play any more games.

(Also, where’s my invite? Let me in 😃!)

That’s the best and only way to get away from the FCC’s controlling fist.

Would just replace one group cancelling with another group cancelling, probably easier to just give him a time out and then bring him back to TV in a week or 2, whether he returns in any way likely depends on if the show was making money or not, if it wasn’t breaking even it’s an easy excuse to eliminate a money loser without risking contract lawsuits.

This is Disney. Why are you even questioning whether the show makes money? You know better than to question that. The show has 20 million followers on YouTube alone, basically double what Colbert has. Furthermore, even if it wasn’t breaking even, with the blowback they are getting, it’d be worth keeping around as a loss leader.
