Small race on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Run for the Dogs 5k in Deerfield, NH.
Part of the run was through fields at the fair grounds. A lot of dogs were on hand.
I felt a little out of place, not having a dog to run with. Overall a good run on a
cool morning. (30 degrees F)

Ran the Palm Springs Santa Paws 5k on Saturday (not my photo)-

The run comes with a Santa costume... lets just say mine was pretty ragged by the end. We visited the Living Desert zoo afterward and had a great day... but beware... there is ALWAYS a Burrowing Owl somewhere judging you...

(This is my photo... MUCH better than a shot of the medal from the run :-D)

The Indianapolis Indy Mini 500 Half Marathon has been accomplished... aling with then showering, packing up, driving 2 hrs south, and attending the Kentucky Derby in the same day! We're touring distilleries today...

The run is very well put together! A TON of on course support, tons of live music groups, and tons of of water/gatorade stops. I honestly think I was more hydrated after the run than when I started it. Get out there and do this one if you can. Highly recommended.

Anyone done Rock'n'Roll Vegas? (or any Rock'n'Roll runs?) My friends and I just signed up for the 10k in Vegas in February and it is pricey! But it's a sunset run ON the strip... nice.
I’ve done it a couple times (the half) and it’s a really fun experience to run down the strip with all the lights around you and there’s lots of music and noise everywhere. Not a good race to set a PR but that’s not the point, it’s all about having fun.

If you are looking for a fast race I highly suggest the Mt Charleston Half (or full) in Vegas though, a one way race that starts half way up (or at the top) of Mt Charleston and is nearly entirely downhill, I’m normally a 9+ minute mile runner and I’ll never forget the high I got from looking at my runkeeper and realizing I was running 7 minute miles, PR’d my half by 17 minutes.

I ran the Rock n' Roll 5k and the Half in Vegas, in 2024. I agree it is a blast running down the strip. The 10k and the Half run at the same time. A good amount of entertainment. The start is a bit of a cluster f---, but once you get going it is good. Funny instance, you run out by the airport and back. A private jet warming up it's engine practically blew some runners off the road.
